Update (Airlift bags):

Since I lifted the truck I had a large gap in the new springs because of the increased length. I thought about making my own spacers but did a quick google search and found the Airlift Lock N Lift spacers. I emailed Airlift and they told me they weren't intended to work for this application (they were very unhelpful) but I figured I could make them work. Ordered these spacers from Andrew (at Bully's Performance) a couple weeks ago and got them installed over the weekend. Had to do a little bit of modding to make them work the way I intended them too (cut the lock tabs off the top and bottom spacer) and then I had to drill out the center hole for the bag to go up into properly. Other than that they work great, exactly as I wanted them too.

I got the kit for a 6" lift (even though RCX only lifts the back 4.5") but I did end up using all 6" of the spacers. It just fit better IMO and will keep everything nice and tight.

The one issue I ran into was my airline length... when I first installed the kit I wasn't intending to put them through a 6" spacer before the bag so it was a little challenging getting them hooked up with very little play room.

6" Lift N Lock Spacers

Since everyone loves pictures, here are a few off my phone that I haven't posted up yet:

Towing my dad's car a couple weeks ago. I hadn't bought a big enough drop hitch yet and I wasn't running any air in the bags so it was squatting quite a bit and the trailer was fairly tilted. But it worked fine for the 10 minute drive home from the track.

Dwarfing all the cars around me stuck in traffic

Sometimes you just get sick of cramming your big truck into small spaces... so you park like a jackass instead.

Neighbours GMC: 6" suspension lift with cranked torsion bars, 3" body lift, on 37's
My truck: 6" suspension lift with 1.4" bilsteins on 37's, and mines just as high. Dodge FTW!

New drop hitch I picked up in the states while on vacation. For $60 I couldn't really go wrong....

brandon, those spacers are meant for the top of the airlift?
I thought they were for beneath the airlift bags

But then again, I have not seen one installed yet

Technically they aren't meant for the Airlift bags at all. They were actually built for the external bags (at least that's what Airlift told me). I thought about putting them on the bottom but with how the bottom spring seat is shaped I figured they'd probably slide of to one side eventually. Having them on the top keeps them in place a lot better so they won't end up hitting the side of the spring.

Did you have any problems with vibrations after it was installed? Or steering?

Nope, no issues whatsoever. Obviously I didn't run the kit for very long before I traded the truck in but from my experience I have no complaints about the RCX kit. It's a great kit for the money

Default RCX and AWD included 2014 Rams

I have a quick question. I have a new 2014 1500 4x4 with the AWD button included. After hours of researching what brand of lift I want to put on my truck, I have noticed that the RCX's installation instructions clearly state "Not recommended for AWD models." If this is the case, then what 6" suspension lift should I go for instead? I had initially decided on the RCX with bilsteins primarily for the price, but after the warning label I am definitely second guessing my lift choice. Any tips or direction would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not sure why they would have that disclaimer on there. There shouldn't be any difference between a truck with 4wd auto and standard 4wd. I'm sure there's been lots of people that have installed them without any issue but if you're concerned about it your best bet is to send Rough Country and email. Just ask them exactly why that disclaimer is there and you'll get a straight answer.

Alright I will shoot them an email. I wasn't sure if there was some known problem with installation on the AWD models or something. Thanks for the response!
