The nozzle of the manifold makes a 45 degree turn to the drivers side our alternator is located right there. The alternator must be moved, the only way to move it is to install an LX style Timing Cover so the alternator is relocated to the passenger side of the motor towards the botom.

Check out the engine bay they just dropped in a 392 but you can clearly see the difference. There is no alternator on the top driver side of the motor because this motor has an LX Timing Cover and the alternator is located on the bottom passenger side of the motor.

So if you try to throw a 392 intake manifold on our truck motor the alternator will need to be moved... Thus requiring a new Timing Cover in order to move the alternator out of the way..

What you're calling a crank case is in fact what Mike is calling a timing cover...

If you get a chance I'd like to see some of the custom drop
components/coil-overs Mike set you up with for your drop.

It looks great in the dyno shot

How much drop did you end up with and did he C-Notch the frame like he did on his 4x4?

I currently have a Ground Force 2/3 drop on my 4x4 but would like a little lower,
also considering a Jeep GC AWD transfer case swap like Mike did too.

Sometimes I'm glad I'm so far away from L&M's shop or I'd be there for upgrades every payday.
I jumped the gun a bit on my signature as Mike will be doing the installation of the suspension next week. What we elected to do was markedly different than what's been done thus far IMO. I am a firm believer in never giving up shock travel, ever. And I won't tolerate a new setup that can't be adjusted to the exact spec I want based on corner weighting and alignment. So our parts list looks like this:

Front
  • L&M Custom 2" Front Drop Spindles
  • L&M Custom Adjustable Front A-Arms
  • RideTech Traditional Adjustable Coilovers (custom)
  • L&M/NASCAR Style Front Swaybar

Rear
  • RideTech Traditional Adjustable Coilovers (custom)
  • L&M Custom Shock Perches
  • L&M/NASCAR Style Front Swaybar
  • L&M Custom Adjustable Panhard Bar
  • RideTech Air Springs (just as helpers if bed is loaded)

Exactly! You don't need an entire crank case as the accessories are located off of the timing cover, which simply bolts on to the front of the motor/block. And again, I have both for sale for someone that does not want the stealth stock look I went for so they can do the swap with ease.

Yeh thats the least of your worries when trying to convert to one of those manifolds a whole myriad of things will need to be changed like he said.

I was just saying that some folks might assume that they can just slap a 392 manifold on their truck and thats just not the case...
