Default 4lo light flashing after truck sitting in wet conditions

I have a 2008 ram 1500 with the 5.7 and when i start driving the truck after it has sat in wet conditions for a couple of hours my 4lo light starts flashing. I was just curious if anybody else has had this issue.

i got an 07 power wagon and mine don't do that. did you check the harness plug at the switch on the transfer case? do you have a t-case shifter or the elec switch on the dash? mine may be different because i have the t-case shifter on the floor

I have the electric switch on my dash. I was curious if I had a bad transfer case shift motor if that would cause it or what would be affected by the damp air to cause a problem like this? It works fine as long as the weather is nice but as soon as the truck sits in the rainy weather overnight and i start to drive it the 4lo light flashes and I get out to unplug the T-case just so it cant switch into anything.

that sounds more like a sensor to me. has it ever switched itself into 4wd when the light flashes? have you tried putting it into 4low when the light is flashing to see if it will go into 4low and switch it back an check if it corrects itself?

when the light flashes sometimes if I dont pull over in time the truck will like go into neutral and start making grinding noises like its tring to switch. However if the 4lo light is flashing I can put the truck into 4wd and the light will stop flashing but as soon as I put it back into 4wd the 4lo light will start flashing again

that sounds to me like moisture is causing it to have a mild short. making it try to change and activate the shift motors. double check all the weather connectors to see if the rubber seals are in good shape also look to see if the plastic housings are are craked allowing moisture in also look to see if its possible that water might be running down the body and getting into the wiring harness for the transfer case from somewhere.

Thanks for the advice I was thinking it must be something like that because it only does it after the truck has sat in wet conditions. I will check the connectors all over and see if there would be anywhere water could be running off the body that would cause it. I will post again to let you know what I have come up with

So I ended up replacing the tipm and the transfer case shift motor and still has not corrected the problem. So now we are looking at maybe the possibility of one of these parts being bad or the problem exist somewhere else in the truck. Can't seem to find any bad wires but might be overlooking something. Will keep posted on the repair.

check the trans and tcase wiring harnesses to see if there is any corrosion on the connectors as a tell tale sign water is getting in and causing issues.
