Default Can't make my mind up on 14" or 18" Maggy

I though I had it all settled on the 18"

Called up a shop and the owner, said I should go with the 14" and keep the resonators, for a sweeter yet still tame sound. He will install for $200.00 with the off brand...

One thing I did not know is he mentioned Magnaflow and Flowmaster lost their patent, There is an off brand that sells the same muffler cheaper, without the magna flow stamp on it.

He seemed like a real nice guy but hard to make up my mind now between the 14" and 18".

I will tow, and really dont want any drone, or crappy sound with the MDS, so What do ya'll think between the 18" and 14"

I have the 18" Maggie with reson's still on and it is perfect for my family. A mild drone at 16-1700rpm at hwy cruise speeds when towing but nothing obnoxious. Great deep aggressive tone when you get on it and mild enough to not upset the sensitive neighbors.

yeah sounds like what im looking for. I am going to stick with the 18" Problem is I can't find a shop to install at a decent price. Folks out here in California are crazy expensive. If I can find a shop to make it 200 out the door with the 18" magnaflow I'll do it...

Buy the muffler and have them install it. The muffler shop guy told me it cost him 159 for the muffler. I got one from autoanything for 80 for 14" maggi and he installed it for 100. Total of 180. Great deal for NJ. My vote is for the 14". Not loud at all. The open intake I put on is way louder. If you ever get an intake go with a fully enclosed one like S n B. Not K n N or my AFE unless you like loud.

to be honest, that mufflex system was the easiest thing I ever put on a truck. mine is new, so the old pipes came off with WD-40 and a rubber mallet. popped off the old and swapped the mufflex 18" system, all hangers there, clamps that will seal. it all lined up with no problems. Now I can pull it off and put on a stocker if the thing gets too loud. but so far, its not bad. you'll notice a K&N cold air makes more noise than the muffler! I hear that more than the magnaflow
