Default 2013 Big Horn Headlight Swap

I'm looking at possibly swapping out my 2013 Big Horn headlights some time in the near future. I would like to go with the '13 Laramie style headlights instead. Would it be a simple swap or would there be more involved? I'm guessing I'll pay a pretty penny for the OEM projector headlights, but I really like the look of them. Any other info you guys have is welcome!

I know putting the projector headlights in a 09-12 requires a custom wiring harness. Not sure how that would work in a 13 but I'm assuming the same custom harness would be required.

And yes, the OEM projectors are $500+ a piece. So definitely a pretty penny

It really depends what you have presently as headlamps, Big horn usually has a set of Halogen Quads and the Laramie has the projectors with the LED Turns, You can make the move, only you might have to tap into the turn signal wires for the LED Turn signals, and you might have to put in a resistor so they don't hyper flash. You will probably need to change the bulb for one that will work with the projector unit and I am not sure but might have to do the same for the high beam, maybe not. Its not real hard to do and if you get your parts prior, usually in a hour or so you can swap them over.

Since you have a bighorn you will need to pickup a harness or do the wiring yourself.

You can pick up a harness from the retroshop(dot)us and that will make it a plug and play application. I am currently running a set of those harnesses on my 09 Ram without issue. As you can see from my pic I have 13 Laramie headlamps.

The harness comes without LED resistors because most trucks don't seem to need it. Again my truck is running without the resistors in the front.

Also check and see if he has any of the headlights in stock. He usually sells a pair for $600 or so.

If you need ANY info regarding the 13 swap, buying from the retroshop, or even having the 13 headlights retrofitted with a better projector PM me I can answer any of your questions.

Even though you have a 13 because you are running the quad headlamps you have the exact same wiring as us 09-12 guys.

I know they are an expensive option, but I just really like the look of the Laramie headlights. I think the chrome will match up well with my Big Horn.

Yep. You are correct. I do have the Halogen Quads. That's good to know it's not real hard to do, as I've never attempted a headlight swap of any kind before.

Awesome! Thanks for the info Arth. $600 is a little easier pill to swallow than the $500 a piece. I'll PM you if I have any addition questions or concerns.
