Question MPG for 2500/3500 Diesels

I have only used half my 2nd take of diesel so far, but wanted to hear what kind of mileage people were seeing out of their 2013 Diesels.

My first weekend owning my new 2013 Dodge 2500 CC Diesel, I towed my 6500 lb trailer over Mt. Hood to Central Oregon and averaged around 13.8mpg for the trip.

This weekend I will finally get it on I-5 heading south for my neices graduation so I haven't really seen what it will do on the Highway yet.

Around Gresham/Portland some streets, some freeway traffic, I have been seeing an average of 16mpg.

Curiuos what you are getting in your diesels and also what tires you have. I have the stock 17x9 right now, but will be looking into either 18" or 20" soon.

Thanks for looking viewing and appreciate any replys.

I've towed my bumper pull horse trailer about 300 miles total now (weighs 3500 lbs or so-not much), and get about 15 mpg towing (trailer has some wind drag). I average about 18 mpg on highway. Only have about 1300 miles on it, and I've been babying her. Waited till I had about 500 miles on before towing.

I have the stock 17" wheels/tires. I'll keep them until they wear thin. Run 60 psi in front and 45 psi in rear so far. Ride is good. Not too stiff.

Default 2500

I have 2500 crewcab with 8'bed and right around 1100 miles on it. It's avg. says it 17mpg and when driven on highway at steady 70mph have hit 19mph. Been told when it breaks in should do better, will see.

Thanks Luke. I was told the same thing about breaking in the truck and improving performance/mileage. We shall see!

Nitro- I have seen metioned around the Forum before "Ordered my truck...". Always wondered why people "ordered" their trucks when the lots around my home have a ton of them on the lot. Are you adding extra Mods that don't come on the original? This is all new to me. I have had friends drive to Washington and Idaho to pick up trucks, but never known anyone to order one specifically for them. Just curious.

B.N.,
I ordered mine. The short answer from my perspective is, "So that I could get EXACTLY what I wanted as far as options from the factory go." I imagine it's about the same for others who "order" theirs.
