Default Differentials?

Hi all, just a couple of questions. i am about to do my differential fluid changes, and i wanted to replace my gaskets as well. my build sheet says i have a Corporate 9.25 LD Rear Axle, Anti Spin Diiferential Rear axle, 3.92 Rear Axle Ratio, 205MM HD Front Axle, Conventional Differential Front Axle. Can anyone explain to me what all this means, and what sizes i need to specify for proper fluids and gaskets? Thank you.

If you are going to use an actual gasket, I'd see if Lubelocker has the application covered. I never use gaskets on diff covers though, always just use The Right Stuff. Never have any leaks.

well they came with an orange looking gasket, i know i had the fluid all changed out at 30 thousand miles, but the guy said they were damn near perfect condition so i left them, but i think i have a small leak, and wanted to replace what came stock so that i dont have to worry about the tiny leak anymore.

Not saying its not true, but my last Ram ('10) had orange too, it was silcone, not a gasket. I have yet to see or hear with one that had a gasket? Unless someone else can chime in otherwise I would say your last mechanic screwed you.

Pull the covers and drain, scrape off the old material and put a new bead of silcone on. Put the cover back on, fill it up and be happy!

I have always used RTV black on differentials with no leaks
and when the time comes, will do so on my Ram.
