3) BE CAREFUL on the rear clip that holds the headlight housing in. I broke the first one :-/ I'll likely end up ordering a replacement as some point, but for now, it still works.

4) I used zip ties & double sided tape for the ballasts ~ They provide bolts, but if mounting on the inside of the main frame, its almost impossible to actually bolt the ballasts.

5) Go slow & steady! Don't rush it!
good pointers to know.

I got the kit 2 weeks ago but still no truck to install them on.

Now that it has been a few months with your kits install, how do you like them? Any issues with them?

I have been hearing a lot of horror stories of people trying to put HID's in the projectors. Flickering issues and problems figuring out how to wire everything. I am really wanting to install some on my 2013 sport but hoping that someone can do a write up for the install, perhpas a video for us more risk adverse members.

its not an install problem or flickering problem. The canbus gen. 3 fixes those, but i keep having problems with the ballasts / bulb on the passenger side either not igniting or burning out.

It takes about 1.5hrs to do the install if you know what your doing and you do a nice clean job. I mounted my very well hidden, away from rain and heat too. i also used a router drill to bore out a nice clean hole for the wire to come from the inside of the projector to the ballast.

Im just not convinced these canbus gen. 3 are the answer yet. I installed HID in my srt4 neon and had them in for 4 years and not one problem with they, and they were cheap chinese hid's.

dodge's new electrical canbus system is just a shitty ass design and causes nothing but headaches. this truck should have come with HID stock using DS2 bulbs from philips!

Has anyone done a write up on the install for these lights on a 2013? I have seen a few for older models with quad headlights etc. Also can anyone comment on the quality of the instructions from Retro Solutions for their 55w HID kit with relay harness?

HID kits are very easy to install, passing the wire harness and installing the ballast and resistors so that its a nice clean job is the longest part. FAQ's are ok, but if you do a bit of reading on how to remove the headlamp housing, how to handle HID bulbs, and other threads on what others have done on there 4th gen's you will see its pretty easy, just take your time and do things slowly, the 1st light will take the longest then the 2nd you will fly through the install. If you run into issues start a thread and ask the questions, there are a ton of members here that have done them on there trucks. My 2012 has then on for almost 2 years and they are 55watt and from Retrosolutions. I have installed kits on about 15 different vehicles and its all about the same setup, just some vehicles have particulars like the 2013 Ram, just make sure when you order your kit you order it complete for your year and make and headlamp type.
