Default Outside factory mirrors

Hey does anyone know if the outside factory mirrors on a 1997 to 2003 Dodge Dakota will bolt on to a 1994 to 2001 2nd generation full size Ram? I have a 1998 Dodge Dako. and it has the factory fixed mirrors on it, and my son has a 1997 Ram SS/T and we were looking at them and discussing how the Ram would look so cool with the Dako mirrors on it. But will they fit, it looks like from the outside they bolt up in the same area. Without taking both mirrors off, I was going to try and answer that question at a salvage yard, find both trucks and measure the mounting bolt areas and see. Has anyone done the homework on this??? The Dako mirrors are cool looking sport mirrors and would look really cool on a full size Ram, especially with problem with being loose.

Keep on Truckin!

Talk to Warlock III, hes got a set on his second gen. I remember reading somewhere that he had to drill them out, but the footprint was the same.

The boy and I tried it this past weekend, don't advise drilling out or even trying to make the Dakota mirrors work....The bolt pattern is not the same and not worth the effort. Go get some aftermarket sport mirrors designs just for the Rams'
