The 24" drones real bad and sounds even worse in 4cylinder mode. If you have a dual exiting rear bumper you won't want to dump after the rear axle to get rid of the drone. My exhaust finally is sounding louder after about 7000 kms or so, but want to remove it to try and add a j-pipe to it to get rid of the bad drone. I think the 18" and even the 14" would drone less than the 24" as the exhaust tone will come up.

I did the following for my Outdoorsman:

Replaced Y-Pipe with Magnaflow #10778
Replaced Muffler with 18" Magnaflow #13259 (SI/SO)
Removed Resonator

Weather is supposed to be crappy starting tomorrow night but if I don't leave for out of town I could take a video with my phone tomorrow. Otherwise would be Monday or Tuesday. What scenarios would you like to hear if I can do that? 65mph cruise with windows up? Driving around town with windows up? You can hear mds kick in for sure.

I’m a little late on this thread but I am currently running a Maggy 5x11x22 PN# 12588 3”in and 2x2.5” out with the resonators deleted and 2 18”x4” chrome rolled tips. The sound is exactly what you are looking for… aggressive when you step on it, but for a daily driver its deep with no drone, even in MDS.

A buddy of mine is running a 14” mufflex with the resonators and in a direct comparison I would say that standing behind the trucks the 14” is louder… mine is deeper. Inside the trucks mine reminds you it’s there when you step on it… while the 14” never lets you forget. Both sound good but they definitely sing a different tune.

I love mine and I wouldn’t change a thing.

I thought having it dump after axle would cause more drone than running it thru the tailpipe?
I just had a flowmaster 40 installed and it's not bad at all, a lil quiet but I still have the resonators. Considering taking the rear one off but then afraid I'll get the drone

it's the piping that causes resonance...the shorter the less amount there is so you have to find the balance between loud and resonance. When I first ran the mag I just had it cut and welded in with the stock tailpipe minus the resonator..at 2k rpms the resonance was almost unbearable... after awhile and on a whim I decided cut the piping so it would be dumped just after axle.. it got actually quieter and the drone was completely gone...
