Default Need help or suggestions with exhaust upgrade

i have a stock 2012 dodge ram 1500 lonestar edition with 5.7 hemi. im wanting to mod the exhaust and cut out the factory y pipe after the cats, im wanting an x-pipe with flowmaster super 10 mufflers. the question im needing an answer to is from the cats where do i install the x-pipe in order to make it a true duel exhaust? saw a video on youtube and it sounded really mean. so stopped at midas on the way home from work and they were clueless on how to intall the xpipe in order to make it that way. any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Jeremiah

For you guys replacing large chunks of your exhaust, do you have local shops that have stainless pipe? I don't. Thus, I want to retain as much as the factory pipe that I can -- or go full cat-back. I don't think "aluminized" piping would last long in the midwest.

Help me out here. What is the difference between a H pipe and a X pipe, besides the obvious, H vs X ? Does one give better performance over the other?

As long as they are done properly, they do pretty much the same thing. In theory the X is a better design...but Fred's H pipe design puts up one hell of an arguement for our trucks. 12.1 sec. quarter mile in a quad cab truck is fast!

...I think I confuse people because I'm really not the norm... unless you do deep mods like cam an heads and lt's with no cats, you shouldn't really follow my lead , If i could afford to one day, I do want to get another exhaust to bolt on from the headers back just for comparisons sake.. maybe try smaller piping, do a Y to a si/so muffler etc...
