So I ordered the kit for $88 with free ground shipping. I’m guessing I will have them Saturday at the earliest. I’ll let you guys know how the install went.

Also, I have a call in to my sales guy to answer the “upgraded” suspension question.

Interesting .. I just went to order the Air Lift kit from Summit. If you search on the part # the kit comes up, but if you search using your vehicle info only the Firestone kit comes up and it cost about 3x as much as the Air Lift kit. I think that's a little shady on Summit's part and they are off of my short list for parts suppliers.

i put a set on my '12 outdoorsman a month or so back.

you need to jack the truck up by the frame, and there is a LOT of travel in the suspension! i used a floor jack on top of 2 stacked pallets with a sheet of metal on the top pallet to keep the weight disbursed. you want to jack it up by the frame until the rear tires just want to lift off the ground.

For the install, simply remove the cap from the bag and lay the bag on the ground. step on it and roll your foot from back to front to mash all the air out. slip the cap back on and fold the bag like a hot dog bun. next slide it in thru the lowest opening of the spring until it is fully inserted. slip the cap off and put the spacer on top. now you just run your line(s). i used the bed channel that goes from tire to tire to run mine across, just slide it inside. WORD OF ADVICE, get some old gas line and cover the airline at least from teh bag to a few inches inside the channel, it will protect it from abrasion. Also leave a few inches slack in the airlines, you don't want the axle to hyperextend and unplug the line.

i also got the compressor kit with mine. I put the compressor under the drivers side rear passenger seat, with the cover closed and the seat down you don't even hardly hear it running. My switch and gauge i mounted in the upper glove box.

This icture shows my truck as it sits right now, with ~25 PSI in the bags. There is over 600# of extra weight on the bed between the 180# shell and the tools/parts in the bed of the truck. i have the Mopar leveling kit and this parking lot is slightly sloped towards the truck front. on level ground she sits perfectly level front to back when measured in the bed. If i let the air out of the Airlift down to 5PSI(minimum pressure to keep bags in shape), then the rear of the truck drops about 1" under this load.

The only thing different that is listed for the Outdoorsman is the Extra Heavy Duty Shocks in the rear. I personally think the front springs (and maybe even the rear) are different since I notice mine sits a little higher in the front compared to my buddy's Sport 4x4 around the corner.

Get the Air Lift bags. You will not regret it. One bonus is your cornering will greatly improve as well. I keep about 15psi in mine. The part number is 60818.

At 15psi, you dont find it too stiff? Or its just perfect?

Thumbs up

I installed the kit on my RCSB last month, very easy install! I had to tow my tractor on my eighteen foot flatbed, total weight 7,300 lbs. I had to max out at 35 psi to keep my truck level. I keep it at the recommended 5 psi when not towing which keeps the bags inflated to prevent shifting or pinching.
My short wheelbased truck pulled great, that Hemi has lots of power and I'm coming out of a Duramax diesel!

I don't find it too stiff. You can notice a difference but it is not bad at all. That is the only PSI setting I have tried so far. Maybe 10 would feel the same. My wife doesn't even know I put them on. I love the extra cornering ability. It is so worth it. That is MO of course but for $90 to eliminate the sag, you can't go wrong. Now I wish I had the Sport seats with a little more bolster support. Then I would really be

I installed mine about 2 weeks ago and I did it all with the tire jack that comes with our Rams. I keep mine at 20 psi and it is just perfect for my taste. but I like a truck to ride like a truck not a cadilac haha
