Kobelco SK-140SR Excavator
Weight 32040 lbs
Legal width - 8'6" (no permit needed, not oversize)
Galveston TX - Little Rock AR

I took some extra pics showing how I secured it down, just in case anyone wanted to see.

My chains & binders are rated for 6600 lbs. I used 2 chains & 8 binders on this.
One end of the chain hooks to the outside of the track, which hooks to the binder, which is hooked to the floor. Then I take another binder and go from the inside of the track to the floor. That is to make up the difference of the weight that the chain is not securing.
On any piece of equipment, all attachments must be secured, whether it's a blade, bucket, scraper, etc... So I placed a 2" strap over the arm, which is rated for 3300 lbs. I personally don't consider a strap a securement, it's just there to cover my ass since it's the law.
So with 2 chains & 8 binders on this trackhoe, I have 52800 lbs of securements on a 32040 lb machine. I don't plan on it going anywhere LOL

Pretty simple stuff..........once you learn it

I stopped hauling over-sized loads...hmmm, about 3 years before the divorce.

I was lookin' at the weather in the background any particular procedure if bad weather moves in, tornadoes, etc?

I like it, I get paid damn near double what I did when I was pulling regular flatbed and I don't have to drive near as often.

As far as bad weather is concerned....if there's a tornado coming I will seek shelter in the nearest building with flashing neon signs. No electricity needed lol
Honestly idk, its never came to the point that I had to resort to extreme measures

I just heard that the bridge up near Seattle Washington, the one that collapsed
was struck by an Oversized Load
The truck & trailer made it across before the bridge collapsed

also 2 people were in a Dodge Ram, they were going on vacation, they were among those that ended up in the water

http://news.yahoo.com/wash-5-bridge-...130116006.html

more info
The trucker was hauling a load of drilling equipment when his load bumped against the steel framework over an Interstate 5 bridge. He looked in his rearview mirror and watched in horror as the span collapsed into the water behind him. Two vehicles fell into the icy Skagit River.

The truck driver works for Mullen Trucking in Alberta, the Washington State Patrol said. The tractor-trailer was hauling a housing for drilling equipment southbound when the top right front corner of the load struck several of the bridge's trusses, the patrol said.

Initially, it wasn't clear if the bridge just gave way on its own. But Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste blamed it on the too-tall load. The vertical clearance from the roadway to the beam is 14.6 feet.

The load was Permitted & the driver passed the Blood test

Pictures, including the Oversize Load
