Code readers are really cheap, especially with ebay annd amazon around. I would recommend not even equating that into the total price. Especially since autopart stores give free code reading and printouts, autozone to be the most noted.

when I throw a mil, I want to know right then an there what that code is so i know I can still drive it or it can wait...my programmer has paid for itself over an over an over again.. then again, I am lucky to have an 05 where I can do a ton more things with my programmer then others...I like the dataloggin aspect where i can log about anything.. here I am jus logging a/f and some temp info...

The bullydog does live data capture and logging but it still causes more troubles than it is worth, just saying.

bully dog and hemi are not synonymous...they work well in the diesel crowd.. he can find a used superchips for about as much as a decent scanner...with the minimal amount of things you can do with 03's, a programmer is a pleasant upgrade...

I have an 03, and I was wondering why they are so much more difficult to tune. I have read multiple threads that only a few, like superchip can program an 03.
