Default Leveling Kit with a Suspension Lift?

Hello everyone, I just bought my first Ram and I've got my first of many questions I'm sure. I've got a '99 1500 Laramie 4x4. A previous owner installed overload springs in the rear and claims to have installed a 2" lift. There is no body lift so I've got to think it's suspension, as the truck definitely sits higher then stock height. However, the truck still has the factory rake that I would like to get rid of. I've heard bad things about running a leveling kit with lifted suspension. Thoughts? Maybe stiffer/taller springs in the front? This is my first taste of the full size truck and suspension lift world so please forgive my ignorance. Thanks for all the help!

Lots of people run leveling kits on there suspension lifts. It's up to you. I have a 5" lift with a 1" leveling spacer. Just the bigger the spacer the more your axle will shift if you don't get longer control arm and trac bar. I don't know if there is a 2" lift out there that isn't a spacer. Unless it's got the offload package springs or 2500 coils a pick of the front coils would help. Good luck.

Oh and if your running the factory shocks and there is already a 2" lift you will need longer shocks. At 2.5" lift the factory shocks are pretty much maxed.

You need to send pics as the previous owner might not have know what he was talking about it does happen. Most overload springs don't raise the truck in fact don't do anything untill truck is fully loaded. Take a few quick pics and post em and then we can give good advice. My guess is as most people think there ram sits higher than stock which is because they do sit higher than most other trucks is that is is stock. You want to be sure what you have before you buy any parts.
