That's weird cause I was talking with him back in January-March. He was having a problem with his papal account but he told me he had taken care of it and he got my cutouts to me when he said he would

I have a DMH cutout on my Trans Am. It's right after the Y pipe and it works great. I always get complements when I drive around and do local car shows.

I don't have one on my truck but I'd go with the DMH unit again. It's a quality part and I haven't had any issues with it like I've seen some others have (motor coming loose or other things like that)

I have thought about a cutout as well. Can't really justify the expense right now for sound alone but if I was ready I would seriously consider this one from Doug's Headers. I like the unique design. Looks like it would make it very difficult for the valve to leak.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/do...0a-1/overview/

BTW, $800 sounds insane even for two cutouts installed. I would stick with one and do as someone else said....have it welded in and then wire it yourself. It isn't a big job.

Sorry Jeremiah...wasn't trying to rep Summit Racing over you guys. I just did a quick search for the Doug's Headers cutout and that's the first place I found it that I could link to.

Sounds good and all. I had them before my cat and were electric but only lasted about 6 months till the motor crapped out and the exhaust cutout door was stuck open. Just get a nice exhaust much better off and save yourself some time.

chefred112, have you ran quarter mile with them open and then closed to see how much they actually helped your quarter mile time? If so, how much?
