What are you guys upgrading to to give the best light output with the factory projector headlamps? Be nice to see some light output shots. Cheers!
Just a quick update to my first post on page 1There's a post with several comparison pics in the 09' section

OEM projector Halogen bulb output (stock)
OEM projector, with HID'd (drop in kit)
Or if you have REALLY deep pockets,
13"+ Heads with upgraded FX-R Projectors installed...
YouTube vid of Jeremy's 10' with new Ram PJ's retro'd with FX-R HID's:

I went with the cheap upgrade, very impressive for the price
simple plug&play canbus adapters made it super easy to install.
But I got the upgrade bug again already and just ordered another set with the FX-R retrofit
...also having them blacked out and tinted again like my last set.
Stock OEM projector with paint/tint drop in HID kit
TYC replica headlight, same paint/tint but with FX-R 3.0" projectors retro-fitted

Just realized photo of comparison pic did not load the first time,By regular HID,
I guess you mean sticking an HID bulb in a reflector housing made for a halogen?
This demo is not a Ram, but same principle applies
...the light scatters when there's no clear cut off.
DoucheBag HID (not my term, saw it posted on an HID forum lol) vs Professional HID
The example on the left is what gives HID users a bad rap,
because HID done wrong blinds on-coming traffic with annoying glare.
Projectors Lamps have a metal shield inside to block the light above the cut-off keeping it out of drivers eye level.
In Low mode your PJ light stays on the road where it should be.
When you hit your high beam, the shield inside is removed filling the entire lens and your low beam lamp will now shine even brighter than your old halogen high beam!
Actually I gave a pretty comprehensive breakdown in reply#17Mike makes some good points about the differances between a projector with HIDs and the quad lights with HIDs.
The only thing he missed is the huge cost differance, lol.
