According to my dealer I am at D1. Anyone know what exactly that means? I emailed CS on tuesday and they sent me a VIN. My order was placed 7/5 for a CC sport 2wd, no air ride.
The sales manager whom used to be the sales manager at my dealer (sister Hyundai/Mazda dealership) required no deposit from me. Told me if anything strange happened and I didn't get the truck he said he wouldn't mind having it on the lot since according to him it is a really nice truck
I gave my dealership a $1000 deposit to show I was comitted and serious.I've know the salesman for years as he's been at that dealership since 1979 and has seen a few ownership changes.I asked him if he remembered his 1st new car sales there.I was hoping it would be a Little Red Express or maybe an Aspen Super Coupe.Nope,a puke green Omni and boy was it an ugly little t**d was his reply. The boss told him if he could sell that car he's got a good future in sales.Guess he was right.Anyways,he said I did'nt need to put down a deposit, but I knew that his gung-ho manager really preferred it so I didn't want to put the salesman in a bad spot.Gets me $1000 closer to the total anyways.
I have a good relationship with my dealer, so no deposit required.
BTW, my fully loaded Longhorn (except Ram Boxes) is costing me $53,500 + taxes.
What are you guys paying?
Guys stop cluttering the thread. This is for updates by SPP on our status, I dont subscribe to this thread to get your chitchat I do it to talk about the status of vehicles.
Furthermore, SPP has to read all the backlogged crap you guys wrote so he can see if there's changes for his list so despite this message making me a hypocrite it had to be said.
Those that provided a VIN since page 318, you will be included on the next update (today sometime...). I'll answer questions as time permits today.
And about the beer money, I am really honored and would thank you for that. However, and please don't take this the wrong way, I feel it would be a conflict of interest for me. I love my job and love helping others out. This isn't to knock others that do take beer money but they are in a better position to do so as it isn't such a conflict of interest with them. Seeing as I work with some of the systems that deal with this data, it doesn't sit right with me morally to take money for this info. Plus, I learn what you do want in terms of data, how you deal with "bad news" (QA, going back in status such as D->C, etc...), and so on. All that influences how certain systems may be changed for the better to help you out.
But, I do appreciate the thought and will continue to do this as time permits!
I have a buddy in Ann Arbor. If I get up that way this summer... I'd like to hook up, and give a more tangible show of appreciation.
I'm a Mod over on the seadoo forum... an I feel the same way. I take time from my shop, to give free info to the guys who need it there. I generally won't take a gratuity... but if someone is local, or comes into my shop... I don't turn the offer away.
I was shocked to see my truck at the Body Vendor as I did not want the spray in bed liner. However, after a little research I found out the Body Vendor also installs side steps. That was a relief.
Thanks so much for everything SPP! I hope to be able to pick my truck up tomorrow.
I'll post pictures when I do. Good luck to everyone still waiting on their trucks!
Not long for most of you. Quite a few of you that ended last week in this status have moved on. I expect most, if not all, of the rest to be out in the next few days.
SPP, you can take me off the list...my ecodiesel is at the dealer....I do want to thank you for all of your updates...you have been very gracious with you time and information.
NoHarleyYet, you may not have a new Harley-Davidson bike yet as I assume out of your nickname, but you've got yourself one good looking Longhorn there. White and chrome with brown leather, a classy combination. Congrats
