According to my dealer I am at D1. Anyone know what exactly that means? I emailed CS on tuesday and they sent me a VIN. My order was placed 7/5 for a CC sport 2wd, no air ride.
I hope to move through the process quickly. Ordered a pretty standard truck. No dealers around here have laramies in colors other then black and white. Ordered a 2014 Laramie CC short bed with nothing special.
Give Ram a little credit. Of course they can estimate production times. They choose not to tell us.
Another point is that some reports say that a small fraction of the 8000 orders in February were sold to customers and that these have priority over dealer orders. Those of us who ordered the first day should be first in line, not standing on the sidelines waiting for the craziness to clear.
please help me understand. If Ram is building 1500 pickups in warren, mi. at a pretty good rate is it the Mexican workforce or is this diesel engine junk?
I really think the weather with all the ice and record snow falls we are getting all over the US is also could be a huge factor in the delays. Not the QA process but the ramp up in production and getting more trucks out. Plus who knows how many ED engines they had ready to go for the builds.
Longhorns hit a snag after interior parts were in short supply a couple weeks ago.
As far as I know the ecodiesels are being built at the Warren plant.
One data point but Chrysler hit their timeline on mine. Ordered on Jan. 9th; showed up at the dealer today so a couple days sooner than 8 weeks. Hemi truck; not an EcoDiesel.
Means they do not list a build date in the system yet. Until they get caught up a little bit there most likely is going to be a few of us like myself stuck in the ? build date status.
SPP here's one more VIN# for you good buddy ES303866. D1 Status Ordered Feb.11, 2014, today makes 3 weeks March 4, 2014. IMHO quality must be job #1 here... ya I know... with so much of the business dependant on RAM trucks anything less than flawless execution of the new power train would be a disaster... One of the reasons I stayed away from the Chrysler of the past was just that, my perceptions of lack of quality and general apathy for the customer... Obviously this is not the case anymore, and indeed here I am as a customer... But anything less than perfect and I'll be gone, I'm sure the management at Chrysler also shares this concern ( I hope ).. When I placed a factory order I knew I had to wait, in fact I agreed to up to 5 months on the sales order... so I am ok with the waiting game.. I think all the anxiety we feel this is very kewl ( and appreciated ) real-time updates … It’s kind of like watching your stock investments in real-time… not a good idea for sure.. my past experience with the other guys is “see you in 8-12 weeks” and that was it …. go on with your life for a several months and pick up the vehicle.. no sweat .. but boring .. I agree on the customer communication issues, in fact when I called Chrysler customer service to find out why my truck hasn’t shipped I was told that “ I cannot provide any details until your vehicle has shipped “ .. my head just exploded at this point…
Quick note to all on the ? issue, I have a spreadsheet backing all this tracking data so I can handle things a bit easier. When I cut and paste from it, it brings along "junk characters" for the lack of a better laymans term. The question mark represents that.
If there is purely a ? in a item such as VON/VIN, est build, ship, etc, that means I can't see that info yet. If it is 12345678? then it's your VON/VIN combined with a junk character. I'll clean up the list this morning to end the confusion.
Let me get some coffee and I'll answer some questions in a bit.
