According to my dealer I am at D1. Anyone know what exactly that means? I emailed CS on tuesday and they sent me a VIN. My order was placed 7/5 for a CC sport 2wd, no air ride.
Thank you very much for all your help.
It breaks my heart knowing my baby is waiting to come home somewhere in a shipyard, in rain and cold and sleet ....

Sorry to be the first to ask a question but my dealer forwarded me the vehicle status report on my truck. It shows it was unloaded last Sunday in Cottage Grove MN, as I mentioned is maybe 30-35min from my dealer. As of yesterday it is on hold. We did have a snowstorm here yesterday but it didn't start until probably noon. Would you have any idea why they couldn't deliver my truck a half hour away in 4 days? Now because of this storm I am sure it won't deliver today either. Just curious. Thanks for updates
Looks like the ecodiesels went from C to D last night
Any truth in this matter?
That would be awesome news
Thanks SPP for all your hard work
We love what you do for us
Hi! I'm a new member! We just ordered the 2014 Ecodiesel Laramie Limited...got a VIN assigned today. I haven't read through all the 214 pages of this thread...but is there a general consensus on the time to delivery once the VIN is assigned? Dealer rep says 4-6 weeks is normal, but the diesel engine makes it an unknown.
Could I be added to the update list? Thanks!
VIN: ES413121
And BTW - we were able to order the RamBox with the Diesel. But we couldn't order the 3.92.
spp - no apologies ever necessary. What you're doing for the community here is appreciated more than can be captured without hanging out for a couple hours together and drinking your beverage of choice.
I just had to go back and tally - you're tracking like 60+ vehicles! every day, updating a status on them all. That's more than most customer support people do I'd wager - and all this is while balancing the tasks of your 'paying' job
really appreciate for the constant stream of updates. I have a new 'tentative' delivery date of Mar 7th, which is 2 weeks later than originally anticipated (Feb17) but definitely not worse than the originally-stated 8-12 weeks. order placed 10jan, if delivery happens 7mar that's still under 2 months, which for a custom-order Ram 3500 Longhorn ain't too bad
it sure is nice to have the updated statuses, rather than trying to guess or just have VOTS tell me its in 'shipment'. Wonder if Ram would consider turning what you do into an actual service - I'd be willing to pay a 'premium service fee' or something to have the daily status you give, I bet there are many others that would also
thanks again - good to see your car getting ready to go down the line!

Well I just got an update on mine from the dealer. They now show a 2/24 evening delivery which means maybe I can get it tuesday. If thats the case it would be exactly 8 weeks from my order date which isn't bad. But it is frustrating considering it will have been at the rail yard 30 min from my dealer for over a week by that point
You would get that from your dealer, however I believe that SPP would have that information. Whether he can release it to you without confirming identity is U/K.
If you want something to do we can always try to decode it for you.
Let's see the first three characters are 1C6. Now for someone to chime in for your colour code. What model/engine/cab did you get? Let's have fun with this and then SPP can chime in. So far we are more than 50% there.

Sounds like fun! What I have found so far is:
1C6RR7XXXES304082
The three Xs seem to differ when I look at some other sport models on those vin decoder websites.
1c6rr7ut?es304082, However the check digit is a variable. I did post the possibles on the previous page through an edited post. The check digit will be any one of ten numbers.
You will see above that I replaced the "X" with a "?" as that is still unknown, however, if you were to run any of the ten possibles on a decode site you would probably get a vehicle for each one. SPP will have to confirm the check digit.
quick question...I know there are 3 shifts at the Warren plant to build the trucks, however, once we hit JB, like in my case, released to body vendor, is there any movement over the weekend? Do they get shipped out on Saturdays?
Pulled the trigger over the weekend, and ordered a ED Limited... SPP, if you could add me to your list I'd be eternally grateful (at least till the truck arrives, which might actually be an eternity at this rate!)

Well, maybe I should consider waiting to see if they build a Sport Eco for 2015......Actually, I could probably slip into an incoming BigHorn and not lose my butt on it
Hi Everyone, I know this has been asked like a million times but I can't find the answer. What is the difference between staged for shipment and awaiting shipment?
Both are ready to be shipped (no more work to be done).
Awaiting shipment: It's parked in a lot.
Staged for shipment: It's lined up with other trucks to be loaded onto a rail car.
En Route: It's on a rail car or a truck (usually moving, sometimes in a rail yard waiting to move or switching trains)
At final rail destination, waiting to be delivered to dealer: Obvious
On truck to dealer: Obvious
Delivered: You don't need me anymore.
All: I'll add the rest of ya on monday and get the party started for another week.
Staged for shipment sounds like it would be at the rail yard ready to be loaded onto a train. Awaiting shipment sounds like it is still sitting at the factory waiting to be sent to the rail yard? Guessing here.
- staged for shipment: the truck is ready, build OK'ed, emissions ok, it is out of the factory production stage, waiting to be picked up by the next step in the process. It is not yet scheduled for shipment, meaning they don't know yet how or with what batch it will get out of there
- awaiting shipment probably means they know already all the above and they are just waiting for the truck/rail to load them all. At this point they have already planned the pickup time, route and batch to transport. Now they should have a much better idea of the delivery (to the dealer) date, weather permitting.
