Hope this is the right place to post this. My 3500 mega has the BFG Rugged trail TA 265/70/R17 rated at 3195lbs.@ 80psi--has served me well with going on 60K miles. I'am entertaining the idea of going with the Hankook Dynapro ATM tire size 285/70/R17 to get the increased load range of 3750lbs. @ 80 psi. I pull a 16K 5th wheel with a pin weight of close to 4K, so I could use the extra weight rateing for if nothing else security/peace of mind. Looking for input on these tires and going up in size. The reviews are like any other brand/tire, mostly positives and a few negitives. Thanks for your input and feedback.
While I haven't personally used these tires, I used to work at a place that sold Hankook and I can say they make a good tire that lives up to its advertising.
Thank you for your input, I thought I might get more feedback before I actually purchase these tires on Monday. Hopefully someone will chime in hear that have them on their trucks.
HanKook make an excellent Tire but I will through another one at you. Have you checked out Goodyear Silent Armor tires. Not positive on the weight rating but as far as a Excellent Light Truck Tire goes they are very good.
Hey Dodgiedan
How are those silent armor tires in sloppy snow?
I'm shopping them right now, I see them for $286 with a 4 for the price of 3 deal at fountain tire, sheesh they are pricey
I'm thinking of doing the same thing with Nitto tires.
Did you put yours on stock 17" x 8" steel rims?
Do they fit & handle OK, No rubbing?
Was there any hassle from tire dealer about installing these "larger" than recommended tires?
Thanks
