My 98 5.7 Ram burns about a liter of oil in 6 - 7000km
I hear rams use oil, can any one else comment
Is there another brand of oil or weight of oil that decreases oil consumption?
Please don't take this as fact however I have always assumed that it's normal for an engine to use some oil. The one liter in 6~7000 kms does not sound bad at all, perhaps others can chime in and comment as well. Now I had a 2005 Pacifica with only 40,000kms on it and it was consuming a liter every 800kms (yes 800) and the dealer told me that was normal. No way that was normal, lucky for me it was leased and i gave it back to them.
You may want to consider putting a catch can on . That will help to keep the oil from being introduced into the combustion chamber if it's a blow by issue . And yes they do work .
