Default Rubber smell??

Ok I have a 2014 1500 with 1 k on it. About two weeks ago I started to notice a
Rubber smell coming out of my vents when stopped. Not a burning smell, just a noticeable rubber smell like walking into a tire warehouse. I notice it when the truck is warmed up, took it to the dealer and they thought I was crazy and said they couldn't replicate it. Is there a tsb out for this? And has anybody noticed the smell I'm referring to? I don't have the dead animal smell but I'm not fond of the rubber small at all.

I had the dead animal smell.
When they changed the hoses and flushed everything, that smell went away. But the rubber smell showed up in its place. That rubber smell lasted about 2000 miles. Eventually all smell went away.

there is one in Canada. mine was fixed twice. the second time they had some sort of flushing chemical. seemed to do the trick. ill see if the tsb is on my work order for you.

Is this more prevalent in gas engines vrs cummins diesels?
I am afraid to buy a 2014 slt 2500 cummins diesel until there is a proven fix for this. The scary part for me is it seems to start later on in mileage after the purchase therefore leading to the usual in many cases response from the dealership We've never heard of this then the nightmare starts with the run around scene..This issue seems to definitely require a recall. If they had a recall and it worked I would feel better about making a purchase. I noticed this year that the dealership near me had very little ram inventory compared to all the previous years and it may have been do to this issue.

I may be wrong, but I've asked this a couple of times but didn't get an answer.

After reading most of this thread, it looks like this only affects the Hemi.

Does anyone know anything different?

From what I've read it only affects the gas motors, I haven't came across any information that the diesels are having this issue.

Had my hoses changed out and the system flushed...

Still have the smell. What has everyone done to escalate this? The dealership I'm currently dealing with is absolutely terrible.

Just an update on my truck. Had the flush and hose replacement in March, with about 4500 miles (I think), which got rid of some of the smell. Had more of a burnt rubber smell, but still a bit of dead animal stank. Did a reflush but did not replace the hoses again about 4000 miles later (I think). I am now at 17,000 miles and the stank is pretty much completely gone, just a much much smaller burnt rubber smell. Which makes me really happy, because other than the smell and the fact my trailer lights never go off, I love the truck.
