I am now at 17,000 miles and the stank is pretty much completely gone, just a much much smaller burnt rubber smell. Which makes me really happy, because other than the smell and the fact my trailer lights never go off, I love the truck.
Did the dealer warranty the flush and hoses? I was getting the impression without a recall or case number I would need to pay for it.

Well I dropped the truck off last night and the service rep was quick to tell me Corporate has to approve any type of warranty work.

Took mine in for some recall with the radio and to get my outside air temp corrected and mentioned the smell, they said "yep it needs all new hoses and a flush, we'll call you when the parts arrive and a rental will be waiting on you"

Stand up dealer I just hope they can get rid of the smell, mines more of the burnt rubber variant

Took mine in last week for both the oil leak and the stink. Dealer finally smelled it and agreed it was "foul", told me to call Chrysler to get a Star case. Smell has went away, it's been a week and not even a hint. I will say, I smelled it briefly today when I used the windshield washer, the jug must have residual stench in it. don't know what it was or why it went away, just hope it's gone for good.

Hey folks, I have been gone for a while, sold my '13 sport due to the bad smell and not getting anywhere with the dealership for months. Moved on and I am honestly missing the sport after some time. Last I knew the new organic coolant and a combination of new material hoses and coolant were the culprit, but it was taking a long time for the dealers to acknowledge this and fix the problem. I decided to check back and see how things were going with the bad smell and noticed there hasnt been any comments for a while. Did they finally get the cure to this rediculous ordeal? Was there a recall? I miss my truck and have been contemplating buying another Ram 1500. I havent taken the time to browse all the forums and see what all the new details were. Thanx for any input!

I hope you haven't been smelling it long. I heard once the smell is there it will be there. Not sure how bad your smell is but mine was bad.

I took my truck to the dealer where I purchased it (3) times and they claimed they could not reproduce the smell but they drove the truck for less than (1) mile.

Opened a star case and they advised going to another dealer. That dealer replaced the water pump because they thought it was leaking. No change whatsoever! The smell is still there. One of the service guys mentioned he had a RAM with similar problem and was going to go over the issue with my rep.

Wait and see how it turns out

I dumped my stink truck 2014 Laramie for another 2014 Laramie cost me a good penny!! Chrysler never done nothing but make excuses and change hoses. The new one I traded again for has NO STINK AT ALL!!!
