i changed the way they were wired to the way ram dandy said, the subs seem like they sound better overall. and arnt dimming the lights that i can notice.
but they are quite a bit quieter like when i crank my adjustable dial and turn my music up the subs are like at the perfect normal listening sound.
but arnt loud enough at all to show a buddy in the truck or anything like that. ha
or when your feeling the mood for a little more bass its just not enough. tried adjusting the amp don't seem like does enough to give me more bass.
this just how it is with my size setup or what?
the way i had them wired originally would pound a lot harder. but like i said dim lights and hot wires.
and thanks for the help up to now btw guys appreciate it
Or swap up to the Kicker DX10001 so you dont need new subs. If they say 2 ohm on the back, your right now. But yea it may be a tad louder at 1/2 ohm, but not safe for the amp, etc.
1000 watts at 2 ohm is the same if not betetr than 1000 watts at 1 ohm, just you dont need to change subs too.
The one I had was this one driving 2 10 inch - 2 ohm subs
THUNDER Series THUNDER1000.1
4 Ohm RMS Power Output 350W x 1 Channel Signal-to-noise Ratio (1Watt) 80dB 2 Ohm RMS Power Output 600W x 1 Channel 1 Ohm RMS Power Output 1000W x 1 Channel Topology Class D THD+N (Distortion) (1 Watt) <1%

Yeah the amp was producing full power (1000w into 1 0hm load), they were hooked in parallel. 500 watts per sub which is plenty of power. He is running 275 watts per sub with the kicker he has.
gawd the first posts were all about caps and I thought "oh no, this isn't leading anywhere good."...
Looks like you've already solved it, But for sure bigger wiring would help. 4 gauge is like that standard if you're not doing something crazy. IF you still wanted it better you could do the big 3 or have a smaller battery in the back. Like I have 2 little Kinetik 600's waiting to be put in something of mine. They basically put clean power closer to the amp.
And like others said, yeah running your subs at .5 ohms might sound great until your amp catches on fire.
