I have a 2006 Ram 3500 4x4 Cummins. My problem is that when I hook up my 5th wheel trailer or my boat trailer. All the lights work on the trailers except the Lt. Brake Light. The 4 way flashers work, the turn signals work but the Lt brake light does not. Being that the trailer is just a 4 wire circuit for the lights, Lt, Rt, turn signals which also are the brake lights and the running lights and ground. All the truck lights work fine. Someone told me that because Dodge uses a 4 light system in the rear. Meaning separate turn lights and brake lights. That when you hook up a trailer there is a unit that now sends signals to the trailer as to which filament to light up between the brake and turn signal. Does any one know anything about this? I have oredered the Maint Manual CD but it hasn't come yet and I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks Out of ideas in Palm Springs.

What you have been told is not completely accurate. Dodge controls the signals to the trailer independent of the truck itself. The signals all come from the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module). Here is the wiring diagram for the trailer tow wiring in your truck.

Thanks so much for the diagram. I'll check into the wiring now and see if I can find where I'm losing the signal. Also where is this TIPM Located? Is it in the main Fuse Panel? Ron.
