Well, let me be specific.. I heard the song on the drive home yesterday and about died. I used the replay option on Sirius and listened to it until I had it memorized. (I love to sing Karaoke. ;))

Thought I would search for it to add it to my page here.. hadn't seen the video until today. I don't really care much for the video.. just love the song. :)

wow What a long read, But I love every thing you have done with your truck.

You got me looking for those bed steps and maybe even into more lighting options on my 2000 Ram 2500.

My favorite mod you did was having the window visors painted to match. I have already been thinking on doing this to mine as well.

Many thanks :)

I've had the BedStep2 installed for a few weeks now and haven't had any issues (although I haven't used it much yet, lol).

I love my matching visors.. they just finish off the profile of the truck so well.

So, I've been staring at my cleaning products with longing eyes. I have no idea when we will get a heat spike here, but I have to return to Cheyenne Wednesday.. and my Dad just had the furnace installed in his pole barn. So I may toss everything in the truck and take it along on the off chance that I can get the wax done during my visit.

Despite being chilly out, it has been sunny. I got a pretty picture before the leaves all fell in one night  She isn't waxed up yet, but still has a nice, photo worthy sheen.

So many goodies, so little temperature! :3-angry1:

So it isn't warming up enough for me to play with the #845. I did clean all the weather stripping and applied the Gummi Pflege Stift and cleaned all the interior glass with Sprayway and my Microfiber Madness cloud buster towel (most awesome products, btw!). No pics.. just picture really clean glass. ;)

I want to do the exterior glass today though I fear 48 degrees is just not warm enough? I have the Glass Science Glass Scrub and Rain Clear gel and I'm ready to go.. but the bottles don't specify an preferred application temperature.

I also picked up a bottle of 303 as suggested by quite a few others. I plan on diving into that pretty soon as well. Just need to sift through the Forum a bit more to find what is best to use to apply/wipe the 303 with.

#464 ·
Kai, I just use a small microfiber towel to apply the 303. I fold it in 1/4's to apply to the bed caps, mirrors, etc. then just use a little corner saturated with the 303 to "cut in" next to the paint. I have a few of these same microfibers in the same color, so I put a dot in the corner of them with a permanent marker. (One dot for my 303 towel, two dots for the one I do my wheels with, etc.) You get the idea. Tip: A little 303 goes a long way, so use just a little at first, and add more as you need to.

Everything plastic, really. I have much more plastic on the exterior than you do being that you have the Laramie. But yes, it is amazing at refreshing the plastic (interior AND exterior) and it protects from UV rays. Guys swear by it for bed covers. I have people complement me on my truck asking me if it is "brand new", and when I told one guy it was 1 1/2 years old, he said: "Huh, I thought it was new because the plastic looks new." Stuff like that makes all the work seem worthwhile, you know? :)

#467 ·
Oh I most certainly do know! :) It's those compliments that drive me to continue to be the Clean Queen (as my hubby has dubbed me) when it comes to my Ram. I am an obsessive compulsive neat freak who goes all 'Suzy Homemaker' in the house.. and now I turn that energy toward my Ram. :D

The 303 bottle says it can be used on leather, vinyl, etc, etc.. so my plan was to (not in laymens terms) drench the interior and wipe it down, lol. For a lack of putting it better. Following the bottle's label, there doesn't appear to be anything in my truck that I cannot put the 303 on. Please correct me if I'm (or the label is) wrong!

LOL @ high roller! Well, son.. I usta could be a hi roller, but I got me one of these fandangled Laramies here and wouldn't ya know, they gone a revoked my country club membership AND my Sears card.. seems I aint a hi roller no more.

#470 ·
Seriously though.. :)

The label doesn't specify an application temp range.. can I apply it now, during 40 degree temps out.. if I run the heater maybe? I really don't think I can handle learning that yet another one of my new deliveries has to wait for warmer temps. :( I'm going stir crazy and want to actually DO something to my Ram.. other than just sit and enjoy the view. (She is pretty to look at, so that helps) :)

#471 ·
I wouldn't apply anything to your vehicle at 40 or below. That is the same temp as your refrigerator. Chemicals will do some weird things at low temp. Stuff like separate, turn to sludge and freeze if it is cold enough. I would run your truck for awhile with the heat on. Turn it to 70 if you have that option. If you apply it when it is warm and then keep it warm until everything is dry to the touch it should be OK.

There is an industrial cleaner that is new on the market for commercial freezers but I don't think I would use it on the interior of my truck.

I have officially given up. Tossed in the towel. :kap:You just can't beat Mother Nature.
It is already starting to spit snow. So I guess my first waxing experience has to wait five months...

#473 ·
^^^^ IDK in Celsius those temps don't look all that bad, especially that 33 on Tuesday . What about an inside detailing centre, is anything like that offered nearby? So five months takes you into May, do you really have to wait that long?

#474 ·
Detailing center.. nope, nothing along those lines around here in the middle of Po-Dunk, Utah. LOL! Yeah, the winters here tend to be quite erratic from year to year. The snow can be gone by March but other years not. It is most common for us to have our grandchildren having their Easter Egg hunt in a few feet of snow.

So I am really starting to think I should make nice with some people in town on the off chance that they have a garage. Husband says that sounds like I'm going to go to the bar and my pick up line will be "So, how big is your garage?"

... Husband says that sounds like I'm going to go to the bar and my pick up line will be "So, how big is your garage?"
That would certainly be an interesting conversation!! :Wow1:

If you were closer, you could borrow my shop for a few hours (heated AND cooled - I know, "must be nice", right? Well, it IS. But at least I know how blessed I am!).

Maybe there is someone else on the "Z" that has some inside space you can use...

#481 ·
Funny you say that, Doug.. I'm actually using your previous harness as an example of not only how to assemble all the components, but also of how not to have the finished product look.. LOL! Congrats again on finding yourself back in a Ram so quickly. Life is full of surprises. :)

Man have I been every the busy body this week.. and it's only Tuesday!? Ugh!

Now that I am healed up and returned to work, I feel obligated to apologize to the Forum for my inherent lack of postings. I know I am still here daily, but I am experiencing withdrawals. I guess I got used to being able to lurk all day. Ah well. Nice to have a paycheck again though. :D

Working on getting prepped for Christmas.. gift shopping and furniture shopping as well. Turns out we will be expecting two of the four kids for the holiday this year (finally got them to come to us instead of whining about how we aren't coming to them.. LOL!).

Eric, the youngest, will be arriving in his new truck. I knew it was a black Ram, but that was it. While on the phone, I asked him if there is anything he'd like for his Ram and I learned exactly what it is he has now.. 2012 Ram 2500 CTD Laramie CC in black. I about died. Can't wait to see this in person and get some side-by-side shots (although I am not sure about the photos as I don't want to make my baby look puny.. LOL!).

I did buy another wiring harness with the plan on modding his truck with the extra Recon Xtreme I've had laying around. He's not as addicted to lights as I am, but I don't think he'll turn down the mod. :)

We are also trying to work in some hunting as the season for our draw area is open and we are in dire need of some elk meat in our freezer. Soooo.. hopefully, by the end of the year (or maybe not) I will get my new LED tails in and get some pics for you guys!

Yes, Roger, hunting pictures are a requirement. How else can you prove what you shot??

Update:
The dealer's body shop had my baby for a few hours Friday to remove and reattach the factory fender flares under warranty. Seems this is a common issue and they were not at all surprised by my request for a warranty submission. Makes me wonder how long this fix will last. But again, just as was my experience with them when they installed my Recon cab lights back in April.. they are an awesome crew! Got my Ram back completely spotless (although that didn't last long due to adverse weather conditions, lol) and the flares look as they first did. I am very pleased!

While I was waiting for them to complete the work, I was finishing up my Christmas goodies packages. I bake cookies, yes, but I work mainly with chocolate. This year I made chocolate dipped pretzel sticks, peanut butter and graham cracker dipped sandwiches and, of course, nut clusters. I give a tin to my UPS driver, FedEx driver, mail lady, trash collector and the few neighbors we have nearby. And depending on how I'm feeling (and if I made too much - which is normally the case!), I fill up some larger tins for some local businesses. This year.. the lucky recipients were my dry cleaners and the service dept and body shop at my dealer. All received with plenty of smiles. :)

I have been extremely busy catching up with work this month (so many people, so little hand power!) but now that my husband is home AND on VACATION for the rest of the MONTH (burning what does not carry over to next year).. I swear.. now that we finally got the exterior Christmas lights up today.. I will be naggi.. err.. persuading him into starting on my LED tails project with me. :)

Hello Kai,
Just wondering what model Stubby Antenna did you go with and where did you purchase it? I received the shipping notice on my Ram, so expect it in the next couple of weeks and want to put together a few "easy" winter upgrades to get started on day one.

#492 ·
Okay, seriously.. between the holidays, work, family, friends (and even the unexpected, but welcome, new people).. I have not thought about my Ram in any other way except for getting me from point A to point B for the last few weeks. (Well.. I did wash her once.. but the interior.. that's a whole other story!)

My hubby and I finally sat down and set to working on piecing together the wiring harnesses for my 13 LED tails. Come to find out, I ended up purchasing females instead of males and now the project is on hold, once again. No biggie. I know that these will be on my Ram soon.. come hell or high water, Baby! New and correct parts are ordered and scheduled to arrive prior to my hubby's return from a business trip next week.

Sooooo... other than that, not much to report. I did have the dealership body shop fix/repair my separating fender flare issue. Like their previous work, it was a job well done.

Happy New Year everyone!
