Thought I would start this to help answer a lot of questions. Please don't post in this thread to keep from having page after page that somebody has to read through to find an answer. PM or email me with any information you have to fill in the question marks, add, or correct any information and I will update this post. If you have any year model dodge and know what size wheels and tires came stock on it, backspacing, bolt pattern, etc., what size tires and wheels you have on it now and what you did to get them to fit leveling kit, lift, spacer, etc let me know by PM or email. For example just shoot me a PM that says: 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd, stock 275/60R20 bolt pattern 5on5.5 backspacing 5.5", currently running 35x12.5R20 to make them fit you need 2"+ leveling kit and 1/4" spacer. If you have a really good picture of it email it to me or if you have it on this forum send me a link and I'll post it to give people and idea of what their truck will look like with x year model dodge with x lift and x tires.

I might be crazy, but I just read through 14 pages and still have the same question I had 2 hours ago when I started reading.

1. What is the backspacing of my stock 17" wheels?

2. Will my stock wheels fit with this lift? CST 4" CAST LIFT SPINDLES (Which says, WHEELS MUST NOT HAVE MORE THAN 4.75" BACKSPACE)

I kind of like the design of my wheels, so I am hoping the will work. I am even consider having them powder coated black in the future.

15 pages and not seeing my setup exactly....so here's another one.

2010 1500 Quad Cab Big Horn
Stock 20" rims.
Bilsteins and 1/4" spacer ordered from Bully's.

Looking to put 35X12.50R20LT Micky Thompson ATZs on there. Anybody running this with any issues? Anybody see any issues, or should I go smaller?

Thanks!

that set up is very common. I'm surprised you haven't found it on this site. that's okay though

You will most likely need a level, 2.5" preferably

the 1/4" spacers are good, since you are running stock 20" wheels

Need help!!!
I have a 2010 Ram1500 4X4 with factory chrome clad wheel set up (Wrangler tires / 20" X "9" rims that are +19mm). 2" leveling kit. Going to a SRT10 replica wheel (22" X 10" with +25.4mm offset) and Nitto Terra Grappler's 285/55R22, I know they rub and need to know what size of adaptor / spacer I need to clear. Was told a 1" adaptor would work, want to be sure before I purchase. Any help is appreciated!

Hey all. So, I have OEM 17" rims on my 2014. They are wrapped with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor rubber. There is a Mountain & Snowflake symbol on the tire. So I am going to assume that these are Winter tires.

My questions are these:
Should I ONLY run these in the Winter? IE will they prematurely wear if I run them in the Summer? Or are they tough enough to run year round? (If that is even possible)

And if I do not run them in the Summer, I need a decent replacement tire. I will not be doing much, if any, off road running... So decent pavement performance would be paramount... However, I'd love it if it LOOKED like I did offroading, so an aggressive look from side on would be really cool. :)
And I see tires listed as P and LT... Should I only be looking at LT tires?

And if I look for new rims as well, are there specific stats or types of rims I should be looking at? Machined, painted, alloy, forged, etc etc?
I just got an email from TireRack who suggested these rims:
https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&wheelMake=Sport+Edition&wheelModel=TK5&wheelFinish=Black+Painted&initialPartNumber=TK57801B&prefTire=57R7DMV1&autoMake=Ram&autoModel=1500+4wd&autoYear=2014&autoModClar=Crew+Cab

(I really an a n00b when it comes to this stuff, unfortunately... and I am looking to you experts for some guidance! LOL)

Thanks to the OP for the original post, it Is great to have everything easy to find when you are new to a truck/car. Unfortunately it didnt include 4th gens so i read for 15 pages and searched to no avail. I have an srt8 challenger that I usual mod now its time for the truck I bought over the summer. I knew nothing about it until hours and hours of reading on here. So I staring my mods, Anyways....

Help, I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 4x4 crew cab shortbed
Just got the Performance accessories 5" lift in. (PLS600 3" bodylift with 2" levelling)
I plan to keep running the 20" Chrome clad factory wheels but need to know what size tires I can run.
I do not want to use any spacers
I want something that is guaranteed not to rub
Prefer a more common size that is not a fortune
I do not plan to do fender flares either so they can't stick out much if any.
no intentions of ever offroading

If it is actually cheaper to go with new aftermarket 18's and new tires instead of just 20" tires let me know as well.

Actual tire recommendations would be great.
I am actually going for looks and love aggressive tread
(on my Zr2 I have some Nitto Dune Grapplers with the flames)

I appreciate any help

I have the 2014 Ram 2500 4x4 with the Black Appearance package and the Wheels aren't bad. So I plan on using them for a bit. If I level the front can I fit 35x12.5 TOYO Open Country M/T on the stock wheel? Or should I wait until I get Aftermarket 20x10 offset wheels?

#156 ·
You could fit them on the stock rim but it isn't recommended and you might have some funny wear if the air pressure is out of whack. You would definitely need some sort of a wheel spacer in order to clear the upper control arm. It could be as little as 0.25" but probably a little more. I also hear that it varies truck to truck on whether you will rub with a 35" tire on just a level. You just dont want to rub on the lower inner fender as there isnt much trimming you can do without grinding away the body panel.

Sorry if I wasnt more help but bottom line, you can fit the tire on the wheel but will most likely need a 2.5" level and wheel spacers.

2015 RAM 1500 Crew Cab 4x4

Ok, so I know NOTHING about any of this stuff. All I want to do is level the truck (the front is lower than the rear). What is the easiest/cheapest way to do that? Bilstein 5100's? Is that all I need, just put those on and I am good to go? Front and Back?

Thanks and I apologize for my ignorance.

Considering running BFG ko2 285/65r18's on 18x9's. Im currently running the stock 18's with 275/70's which are a 33.2" tire. Im a little concerned that 285/65's would look funny since they're 32.5" tall. I was hoping to stick with stock height or atleast stay under 34" so im not messing with the speedo. Anyone have pictures or an opinion to offer?

Yes you can. I did it before I leveled mine. However, I must tell you that it is why I leveled. On the street you'll be fine. But if you take it off road at all you are going to want to level it. I went over a few ruts and the fender would slam on the tire. Very unpleasant. So go ahead and get the deal on the tires and then get the Bilsteins ASAP. Oh yeah, Have fun.

I have a 2013 Ram 1500 with Billsteins 5100's (I think I have them set at 2"? I forget the exact...might be 1.9 or 2.1, but for some reason I can't remember).

I'm looking to get new wheels and tires. I have 17" x 7.0" wheels and apparently I can't go too much wider with those, so I'm looking to get some offset wheels and maybe a set of 35 x 12.5 tires. I posted here two years ago when I bought the truck, but now I'm close to being in the market for tires.

I have no idea where to start. I don't just want to get the same size tire but with more tread...I'd always planned on getting bigger tires (hence the leveling shocks), but now I'm being told I can't really get wider tires with the stock wheels...so they're on the chopping block too.

What's the best site to look at for wheels and tires? Also...how can I be sure they'll fit my truck. Any advice is appreciated.
