Well hello everyone...

So its time I jump onto the wagon and start a build. Although I haven't done nearly as many mods as some others, I decided to start a build nonetheless.. (wish some persuasive words from some other members...)

so here goes!

I Bought the truck off the lot at the end of this past February (2013).

I test drove and signed the papers in the same day, love at first sight.

Shes the 2013 Mineral Grey Metallic Crew Cab Sport with the 5.7 Hemi and 4x4.

3.55 Gears, 8.4AN, power everything, etc. Basically has all the bells and whistles. There are a few things that it doesnt have that I wish it did. Sunroof, ventilated seats and LSD. Other then that, I'm very happy with the truck, and still smile when I see it. I get tons of compliments on it every day, and that makes me feel great!

Anyways, lets get to mods and pics.

Heres the truck a few days after I bought it.

First thing I had done to the truck was get the Bed line-x'ed and got the whole truck Krown'ed (top rust prevention in Canada.)
I don't have any pics of the liner, but im sure everyone know what that looks like.

My first addition was the black Trailfx Step bars. Again, don't have any pics just of the bars, but they can be seen on the truck in other pics.

Next was a 2 in 1 kinda deal.

I bought some Hella Black magic 500's. They are the same as the regular 500's, just have a slightly tinted glass and tinted reflector in the light. At this time, I had the grille out, so at the same time, I removed all the sport grille inserts and plasti-dipped them black. I also dipped the front and rear Ram heads, and debadged the doors and tailgate. Here's some pics of the lights and the install.

Temporary spots, held in with zipe ties to see how I liked it.

Installed, not aligned.

After alignment (grille off).

Switch Location

The next mod, and most fun for me this far, was the RCX Level Kit. As most know, this is a 2.5" spacer in the front and 1.75"(i think) in the rear. The install was a breeze and I had a great time doing it with the help of a few beers! Dipped grille and Rams can be seen here as well. Also, after doing the level, and before these pics, I removed my rear tail lights and 3rd brake light for some tinting. I taped off the reverse light portion (want as much light as possible) and used a great product called VHT Niteshades. Just a rattle can spray tint. I did about 4-5 coats of the tint and about 4 coats of clear. Turned out great!

Up next was the big one, and made me like a giggly little girl. Thanks to Bully's (specifically Andrew) I ordered the V-Tec Warlord Wheels. 18x9 with -12 offset. These are wrapped in the 35x12.5 Toyo M/T's. I love these wheels/tires and think they compliment my truck well!

They stick out a bit, lol

Last mod pic I have is of the grille swap. The sport grille blocked too much light from the hella's and I just plain wasn't a fan of the design. So I swapped my grille with a black honeycomb grille. I love it and think it looks so much better.

Thats all the pics I have of mods, but other mods include the 14" magnaflow muffler which I love. Perfect sound under acceleration, and minimal drone on the highway.

I also have the Huskyliners Weatherbeaters floor mats front and back. I used to have the Huskyliners mud flaps, but took them off and left them off when I got the Wheels/tires.

I think I've covered just about everything. I can always take more pics of everything, so if there are any requests, please let me know!

The mods will be slowing down for a while, as I'm trying to save for the wedding next year, but I will probably be adding little things here and there, and will definitely take some pics when I do.

Thanks, and enjoy!

I got mine on a local classified ad. It's the grill from the express. I ended up selling my sport grille to the guys buddy, so I essentially got it for free. I like it way better then the stock sport. However, the 2012 grille is different from a 2013. So if you wanted one, look for a 2012 and under

havent checked in for a few days, but I got a little something new.

Picked up my drop in K&N filter today (From Bully's of course). I was really tossing around the idea of an intake Kit, but then after much reading, pondering, etc, I decided to stick with the stock setup-for now. The stock airbox is so damn efficient, and it just needed a better filter. So I got the K&N for now, and I will most likely add the LMI midtube in the future.

I can add pics, but I'm sure everyone knows what a K&N filter looks like, lol...

I think you mean LMI mid tube ;)

Latest little update:

I finally had a few mins to re-route the cable for my T-1000.

I removed the little side panel on the left side of the dash (beside the lights switch, just pops off with some help from a little screwdriver) and I also removed the A-pillar. I just ran the wire underneath the dash, up the side and towards the front of the window. I just tucked all the extra slack under the pillar for now.

Looks waaaay better getting that wire out of my face.

I definately agree. I previously had the wire just wrapped around the steering wheel... ( I was too excited about the tuner, just wanted to get it in) so now I'm much happier!

So I painted my exhaust tips the other day. I've been wanting to do this for a while, and it was the last piece of chrome left (besides the Hemi Badge, which isn't going anywhere right now)

I used a rattle can of Tremclad High Heat in a flat black and it turned out great! They pretty much look like they were powder coated. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

The only pics I have are of the finished product. I painted them tuesday evening and installed them yesterday. I couldn't get any installed pics of them due to the massive snow storm that snuck up on us yesterday.. We got around 6-8"... Anyways, heres some pics, and I will try to snap some pics of them installed soon.

Thanks!

And very true. They handle like a dream both on and off road. They do hum a bit on the highway but not NEARLY as much as some of the other M/t's

When I was beginning the buying process for the wheels and tires I was talking with Andrew at Bully's and he said more then once that the Toyo's are one of the quietest M/T's on the market, and he wasn't wrong!

My buddy has the Mickey Thompson MTZ on his jeep and those things are LOUD!

Thanks! Mods have slowed down for a while... Its a combination of not knowing what to do next (thats a lie, lift.) and saving for my wedding this summer... Rock and a hard place. Luckily my girl knows how much I love the truck, and actually encourages me to modify it. Love me a country girl!

Macc, I like what you've done with your truck. It looks great.

I'm just curious, did the 12's not come with the fold down floor or was that just recent that they did it? My 06 didn't have it, but my 14 does, so I was just curious.

It's a good thing you're marrying her, women like that are hard to find.

got a surprise email from Andrew @ bully's today. 5100's back in stock!

So I have a set on the way! I wont be installing them until I lift the truck, no point right now as I have the RCX level at the moment. I wasnt really planning on buying the shocks, but I wanted to get a hold of them before they went on backorder again.

So in the next few months, I hope to get my lift!

#134 ·
You got it! I'm sure once I get the shocks in and they are sitting in the closet for a few weeks, my trigger finger will get itchy for the lift...

You have been updated with tracking as well
I saw that! Thanks bud, again, you ROCK!

Wow, that's crazy that they sold so fast! I'm glad I got my hands on them when I did! I'll be picking them up on Monday. I'm out of town this weekend and delivery was attempted yesterday... Also should be getting a little goodie this week from a buddy. It was "an offer I couldn't refuse"

And yes, the lift I will be going with will be a 6"zone lift

Picked up the Bils today! Props to Andrew @ Bully's (again) I ordered these wednesday and they were (attempted) delivered friday! Thats quick shipping!!

Can't wait for the next little surprise this week!

Everyones a comedian!

Anyways, onto the little surprise!

So I got a call from a buddy of mine last week who owns an aftermarket parts place here in town. Someone ordered, but backed out of a Bakflip fibremax tonneau cover. So he asked if I wanted it. And I did. I paid him $600 cash and a case of beer and its mine. It retails for around $900-1000 ish here in Canada, plus tax, so It was definitely an offer I couldn't refuse!

Heres some pics!

#166 ·
Yeah, I love it so far! I mean, Ive only had it for like 12 hours, But it just looks so good! and I couldn't pass it up! I look forward to actually using the bed of the truck now!!

Looking great man, do you have a pic of your vht'd tails, as much as I hated vht on my last truck I may do it again, the red tails stick out like a sore thumb on my black ram. Interesting that your truck didn't have gold down flooring, my 04 sport had it, my parents 08 Laramie has it and my 13 has it. Now that the snow is starting to melt (still tons in the bush) I am wanting to start modding a bit, not sure where to start though lol

#170 ·
yeah I wish I had the fold flat floor from factory, but I'm not paying $1000 for the kit. The one I made cost me $50 and a few hours.

As for the tinted tails, if you go back to the first page, with all the pics, I took a shot after putting my wheels/tires on from behind the truck to show how much they stick out, and theres a great picture of the lights there.

Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any questions!

#172 ·
Macc, the truck's looking good. What I want to know is; when are you putting the lift on?

Oh no, You too?!

lol.. not yet. I should probably wait till after my wedding this summer. The issue isnt really the lift, its the install problem. I'd love to install myself, but I dont have anywhere to do it, nor do I have air tools.

So I'd have to pay for install which is another $1000 after tax and alignment... ugh..
