Truck in shop for tranny problem

Truck started having a metal rattle while accelerating and when towing under load. Took it to the dealer today and they diagnosed the sound coming from the tranny. They have a tranny specialist and might have it all week. They have offered me a truck to drive while they have mine. This is the first one they have seen this sound on. I'll let you know what the problem was and the outcome when I get it back.

I commute daily in this truck 52 miles round trip and don't flog it.

So far the following problems have happened with my truck:

1.Rear window had to be removed and resealed to stop water leak.
2.Loose exhaust manifold caused exhaust leak. Had studs replaced.
3.Tranny noise - yet to be determined.

Still love the truck, just wish it wasn't in the shop so much in the 3 months I've owned it.

$2300 for the "lifetime bumper to bumper warranty" doesn't sound so bad. My dealer will even finance it 0% for 12mo. I def. plan to buy it, though it means I'll never get to supercharge or turbo her

Raptor - I don't want to hijack FN's thread, but I got the lifetime bumper to bumper with $100 deductible for $1,795. Shopped nationally via internet then got my local dealer to match the deal with the 0%/12 mos finance.

Thanks, mine is much later than that (2/10). The dealer was able to notice the noise, I took them for the ride and pointed it out, however they called me today and said that they have noted the rattle on my service records, but they do not have a fix for it at this time... so we will see what happens.

Torque Converter:sad: That has been my my concern since I bought the Dodge. I pull 4 to 5 thousand pounds. Have 3.55 gears. When going up hill, converter goes out lockup. If you add wind, its really bad. Dodge should have put 3.92 gears as standard into a truck that is meant to pull. My Dodge is rated to pull 8,600. (no way). Dodge missed this one by using the the 3.55 as standard gears.
