Today I used my remote start to start my 2011 ram sport and it shut off after 10 seconds. I noticed my check engine light had come one after it shut off. Now every time i use my remote start, the truck shuts off. It runs fine when starting with the key fob.
I was told with my Ram if the fuel is low or the Check engine light has been aactivated, on or not cleared it will not function correctly. And maybe not at all.
Get your Check engine code read and cleared.
Correct the check engine light will cause the remote start to not work. And if it's the same as the low fuel light after 10 seconds it will shut down the motor.
Had that problem with our sebring this winter, older battery and starting it on those frigid mornings this winter caused too much of a voltage drop, activating the check engine light, it's a safety feature really, it knows something isn't right so it shuts down hopefully to avoid any damage, with the key start, she'll go figuring if there's any obnoxious noises, vibrations etc happening, the driver will shut it down.
A new battery cleared the light and all was good again.
