I just talked to Bully Dog sales and its true, Bully Dog has implemented this new 250$ policy without telling anyone or at least you have to ask, its not indicated on there website, there downloadable manuals still stipulate that your allowed to move it from one vehicle to another by putting that said vehicle back to stock but this new policy is affective now, and check this one out its for Chrysler vehicles only. Tuners by BD for Ford's, GM etc do not have this policy. Also, seems even if you bought it a year ago and sales had stipulated the same info as in the uses manual that you can move it to another vehicle you wont be able to do it. I will be emailing them this tread so any unhappy customers feel free to voice your thoughts.
Bully Dog will be shooting itself in the foot with this new policy, If you like a product you tell a friend about it, but if you get screwed by someone, 100 people will know about it. Not Cool Bully Dog. Not Cool.
Yep, just bought a 2014 Ram 2500 with the 5.7 and was looking at BD as I heard good things. Had a DS in my old 07 1500 and it looks now that I will be returning to Diablo Sport. Good job BullyDog, you should do a real quick count on how many customers you lost just in this thread.
I have a quick question. My buddy has a Bullydog GT. and has loaded a canned tune into his Ram with it. Now I have a DS trinity installed in my Ram and all I want to do is disable the Daytime Running Lights with his Tuner, since DiabloSport still refuses to add this option. My question is will it be possible? I am not trying to load any tune from his BullyDog but simply toggle the option to turn off my DRLs. What do you guys think?
The VIN is located under show settings? I thought it just needed to say Not Installed. I guess I should not call it junk, I would just rather have a custom tune for my mods. The only issue I have with the BD is when I turn off the TC my CC will not work.
I noticed the same thing when I purchased the BD from a friend. His Vin was on it even though he uninstalled it. All his info was on it from his vehicle (GM). Once I updated it and changed the vehicle over to mine it erased it and inputed my vin. As of taking yours off before you sell it - thats a good question. I might need to know this if I ever sell mine for the GTX thats coming out!!!!!
Thanks for the information, your post has just pushed me more toward the DiabloSport tuner..... am new to this Ram but want the best at a good price, and from what i have been reading about Diablo it has more tuners and more to offer. Thanks again
Thanks I was going to buy a tuner this week and have been trying to decide which to buy. I guess it's going to be the Diablo , because I also have a 12' Jeep GC Overland with a Hemi that I'd planed on being able to tune with the same tuner I bought for my 12' Ram with a Hemi . I sure as he# don't want to pay $250 every time I want to switch between cars. I don't understand why they would do this and it doesn't apply to Ford or GM?
LOL, get a grip you guys, most tuners work this way. My Vance & Hines FP3 tuner marries itself to the ECM and that is it, you can't even pay to have it moved to another bike. Big deal it is not that expensive in the first place.
Also there is no guarantee that a tuner is going to work from one model year to the next any way.
Another tuner that works like this is Dyno Jet you can move it to another motorcycle but you have to pay them about $250 dollars for them to unlock it.
This is nothing new and protects the company from people buying once and using tech support and upgrades which cost the company money.
Okay I just read another post that said Bully Dog dropped this policy if so why is this a sticky as it makes it appear the policy is still in effect and I see posts into 2016 saying they won't buy a Bully Dog programmer because of this policy that another poster has said was dropped within three weeks of it being implemented.
I got a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 what's a good bullydog tune ? I don't plan on switching it between vehicles so I'm not worried about there new policy but I wanna get a tune and was woundering if anyone knew what a good tune for this year was I was on another forum and people were saying they never heard of the bully dog and told me to get a predator tune but it looks pretty cheap I wanted to get a tune so I could have the LCD on my pillar so I could see everything that's going on someone please let me know thanks
Has anyone used the new bullydog BDX platform? I just bought it but have not used it because I travel and do not have my truck with me! Want to know the good the bad if anyone has any knowledge of it! Really hoping I didn't get skunked.
I've searched and can't figure it out, but I've got a Bullydog GT I had on my 04 Tahoe. I pulled the tune when I traded it it, but can't find if this thing will work on my 14 Hemi. I've been all over the BD website, and all I get is buy our new tuner propaganda...
