According to my dealer I am at D1. Anyone know what exactly that means? I emailed CS on tuesday and they sent me a VIN. My order was placed 7/5 for a CC sport 2wd, no air ride.
My truck seems to be hung up in Mexico. I am supposed to fly out in 20 days to pick it up, tickets are bought! Could yon check the status and possibly give me some insight on the timelines from Mexico to Idaho? The vin is eg183408.
SPP - workin' on a Saturday morning! Do you ever take a break?
Is there someone we can send a note to -- up your chain -- to let them know our appreciation for your efforts?
I am not fully versed on the root cause of the issue but it seems like an interaction between the coolant and the lining of the hoses. There are no known issues other than a really bad smell. I know the engineers are aware of it and are working on a solution. It's a relatively rare issue percentage wise but an annoyance nonetheless. Workaround is to use recirculate as that doesn't bring in air from near the hoses.
Some guys have talked about flushing the system and replacing the OAT fluid. I would not recommend this, as it will void your warranty. The owners manual is very clear that only OAT be used, and even then, it has to conform to Chrysler Material Standards Check out page 679 of the big manual....
It's weird that this only affects a small percentage of trucks. As an engineer, this makes no sense to me. If there is a design issue with the hoses, and chemical reaction with the OAT fluid, then it should be a universal problem. Unless some of the hose vendors are not consistent..... and that should be fairy easy to track down.
Cool, I was just able to download my Window Sticker, and amazingly it looks like everything is correct...for what it's worth! Between SPP's updates and a very pleasant Customer Service experience I'm feeling pretty good.

My helpful dealer replied with the following when I emailed him to tell him I was in KZ status:
"I will keep a watch on it and give you an update as it happens. They only do an update each night during the work week and not on the weekends or Holidays."
This seems totally inconsistent with the multiple updates you seem to get but before I called BS I wanted to get my facts straight. Once a truck hits KZ, is there only 1 update / day?
It's variable and depends on the system you look at. Some are once a day during weekdays (VOTS, some dealer systems). Others are updated much more frequently (VINVision).
I'll do a full update tomorrow at some point for everyone I am tracking and those that have requested tracking since the last update.
Thanks SPP.
