I am looking at getting one of the muffler only Solo kits to replace my new Mufflex 24"
My Mufflex sounds perfect for what I was looking for, not too loud until you get on the gas, but it drones like crazy at 1500-1850 rpm. I don't notice it much until I tow the boat then I drop it into 4th to get out of th drone. It works, but is a waste of fuel and I'm always shifting up and down the gears. Have you towed anything with it yet or lugged it up a hill to check it out?

it's the piping after the muffler that causes the drone..i had the same issue and decided to dump it after axle and get rid of the pipe and the drone is gone...

That certainly could be true, but won't help me with my dual exhaust bumper.

Haven't towed anything yet, but I have lugged it up a couple hills, No Drone! Have you tried turning off the mds, or would you rather not every time you start up? I haven't gotten any drone in either mode. If you haven't already, go to youtube and listen to the inside-the-cab portion of the video. Personally i like that low rumble better than a loud growl, especially all the time. Also, have someone else drive past you, it's louder outside than you think it is from inside. I'm sure mine will get a little louder as it breaks in, but it can never be as loud as my '58 Dodge stepside was with flowmasters and Little Red Express Stacks!

I know this thread is quite old, but I thought I would throw in my two cents. I had an '08 Ram w/ Hemi. I had some knock off single in dual out on it with pipes exit behind rear wheels at 45 degrees. Sounded alright but just like everyone states, horrid drone. I got my hands on a Flowmaster 40 series Delta flow for $20 (new). I didnt want to have rear pipes at all, so I just dumped them before the axle. It sounded awesome, and the drone was nothing in comparison to the previous set up. Mind you that both mufflers were dual chamber as well. Now, on my '12 I am undecided on several brands... MBRP, Flowmaster, and FlowMonster. Any suggestions?

There is an ongoing group buy on solo-performance exhaust system for 4th gen.
