Angry Need serious help with cam swap

My 2006 dodge ram truck with a 5.7 hemi is currently in the shop due to head gasket failure. This is a very small shop and definitly no performance shop. They ordered a comp cam 260 cam to replace stock. Comp cam rep told mechanic that he did not need to replace anything else. So he replaced lifters with new stock MDS lifters and used old push rods. He put motor together and it sounded horrible. Terrible lifter noise. Now he is installing new non-MDS lifters, new 6.1 pushrods and the comp cam 260 cam. Has anyone installed one of these in the northern IL area. If so please leave me a post or email me. I have been without my truck for 2 1/2 weeks and I feel that the mechanic is way over his head. And comp cams completely misinformed him. Somebody please help or at least let me know if these are the right parts. I should also note that after the motor is put back together I am getting it tuned with a diablo iTune Thanks for all who reply.

If it's running like complete crap then the timing is off (remember, the crank arrow needs to point at the pentastar on the oil pump and the cam needs to be at 12-o'clock). You shouldn't need to change anything with the 260 cam, it's a very mild lift. A common problem is putting a pushrod into the oil gallery instead or if he didn't put the lifters back in the correct place and has non-MDS lifters in the wrong spot. Non-MDS lifters will take away the possibility of issues with the MDS system, but you should still get a proper tune into the vehicle.
