Default 2012 hemi exhaust 3.5" to large?

I put a new y pipe and exhaust on my 2012 rc hemi. It's 2.5" from the the cats to the "y" then goes into 3.5" (very short). In to the 40 series single in/ single out, then "y"s into the factory dials with resionators. My question is should I just change the muffler out to a magnaflow? Or change the 3.5" to 3". Feels like a loss on torque up a hill. Seems to go GOOD on wot flat ground. Any advice would be great. Pics soon. Glad to be a member of the Fourm.

3" single would be my choice. Still have the factory Y? If so then maybe look into upgrading that to a aftermarket "more flowing" Y while the truck is in the air.

I already have it on my truck so no need for the magnaflow y. And yes replaced the y with custom built one. Question is...is 3.5" to large for before the muffler? Anyone running 3.5"? Thanks for the replys.

3.5" is too big for a basically stock truck. There are mutiple 350-400rwhp trucks running a single 3" with great results. The 3.5" is hurting your low end tq.

At the OP....You lost me bud.
You put a Y-Pipe, then a single inlet/outlet 40 series flowmasrer, then another Y pipe to connect back to the factory pipes?
If so you added restriction with the single in/out muffler and additional Y pipe. Keep it simple, use a different muffler with 2 1/2" dual outlets and delete your second Y pipe.

There's not really anything wrong with that setup, 3.5" is a bit large(loses some exhaust gas velocity) but since you are connecting back to factory(2.25") duals it's probably not much loss. The exhaust gas velocity is probably remaining high with the factory duals. 3" would be better though.

Thanks for the advice, i will change the 3.5" to 3" and replace the flowmaster with magnaflow. Back to the exhaust shop.
