Thanks for your input TNC. I have been shifting just to keep MDS from engaging and I do like the concept of MDS but can't get used to the vibration sound and feel. I love the feel of this 5.7 smooth power and I suppose if I cared to much about gas milage, I would of purchased a 4 cylinder. I am currently getting about 17.5 mpg with about 75% of it highway miles without MDS engaged so for this size engine, power and everything else this truck has to offer, I'm happy. I hope to read more comments and any new post from members experience with there MDS.

i have an 09 and have been getting great milage on the highway with the MDS and pretty good in the city. the only time i have noticed any vibration is at higher highway speed such as 80mph i will notice the vibration but i figure that is due to the MDS probably was not designed to operate at those kind of speeds anyway. not realy a problem to me. like some one said before i feel that is just the nature of the beast.

but getting 524mpg /tank and nearly 24mpg is pretty sweet on long road trips.

The MDS on my truck feels more like the engine is missing on several cylinders--the wheel vibrates lightly and the engine sounds rough. The ECO light which indicates that it's in use only seems to come on when I've taken my foot 100% off the gas--flat, cruising on the highway on level pavement requires too much fuel to have it engage--so I'm not impressed. I read through the article describing the MDS functionality and it answered some of my questions, but I'm not enough of an engine buff to fully comprehend everything there--but thanks for the link!
