Pretty sure the computer won't adjust. There's a reason most people run programmers when making power modifications. As stupid as the bend in the piping seems, the engineers make everything a certain way for a reason. I'm not surprised in the slight loss in mpg.

My mpg is the same if not better, smoother sailing and little different sound. I don't understand why they would make such a crushed pipe but the smoother piping is DEF better

They didn't design it like it is stock for any other reason than manufacturing cost and ease. Crushed pipe is easier and cheaper. It hurts performance, the computer would adjust if there is a change in the amount of air flowing in and out of the engine. If the exhaust breathes better, there will be more flow and it will start to run lean(more air), this will be picked up by the O2 sensor and it will adjust and add more fuel to try to get back to the proper A/F ratio. It's a minor change, I wouldn't have expected much mpg difference, but it should definitely not get worse. Some of it may be driving habit change...

I purchased a magnaflow y-pipe and 18inch muffler on line and had a local shop install it. They specialize in custom exhaust.
Stock pipe is pretty restrictive both where they join the two into one and underneath the oil pan where the drivers side pipe is also crushed to fit underneath. The shop removed all of the crushed pipe and made a custom set up to the y-pipe.
Picking guys! Never seen so much use of a level and degree tool installing exhaust. They even use a stainless steel high heat paint for all their welds (no clamps).
Not overly loud until I step into it. Really nice "gentleman's" rumble at idle.
Better throttle response and I will be monitoring mileage.

Really, really happy with the results and will post pictures when I get them.

cheers,
