I was gonna upload pics of the process, but after I saw how simple it was i didn't think there was any need..I got my new one down at napa for just under $50 with the gaskets included.
The EGR on the 5.7 is on the passenger front side of the engine, close to the alternator. First of all, disconnect your battery so your check engine light can reset. Pull the red lock off the top of the plug, unplug it, and lay it aside. All thats holding the valve on are two 8mm bolts on the inlet pipe and two 10mm bolts on the bottom side of it, where it bolts to the engine. Make sure the old gaskets come off with it. Make sure your new gaskets are in place, tighten the 4 bolts down, plug it in and you're done.
With some basic mechanic knowledge, you can be done in 15 minutes.
