That was very informative last night. At the very least it personalizes the fact that there are good smart people behind our trucks. Totally diheartened about my MDS shutters/vibrations though since there is not going to be a fix it seems as they seemed to have the "as per design" slant.

Of note though, is hearing the lead engineers say there is not going to be a fix because we dont really see it as a problem per se was interesting. Because when my delaer service rep called the Five Star Dealer Master Techs they call when stumped those guys reported "known issue, working ona fix."

I think they just placate us,a and apparantly the dealers. Lines of communication are shotty at best. Making these chats very nice!

Raybestos is good stuff, you probably have the premiums (centers painted black) and this is usually what we use for people that have similar issues on other vehicles, I do hear where you are comming from, as yet mine have been good, but from what you described you have probably gone the best route. As far as the rears grooves, and being on one side, do you have gravel/dust/salt build up??

Hi SE,

If you click on the link on the first page of this thread to view the chat archive you will see a huge list of comments/questions from people, but you will also see responses from the engineers within that text.

The comments/questions have a time stamp and the text as follows:
#:## [Comment From..... ]

The responses from the Engineers just have a time stamp. There were seven engineers in the chat to respond.
#:##
Scroll through it again and you should see lots of responses we're posted.

They did not seem to have responses to every question, and some answers come quite a ways further down than where the question/comment was originally posted.

just my 2 cents here........alot of question i noticed about fuel mileage and that surprised me.....i mean its a 4 door,5400lb,400hp truck that can tow 10450lbs,carry 1700lbs in the bed and get 20mpg on the hwy.....im good with that! i also seen alot of comparison questions and what about ford and chevys new motors.....well you can read all the info you want but im here to tell ya that i think the current truck/engine is whats got ford/chevy playing catch up.....especially the ford.....its pretty sorry imo.....
all too many times i see people buy the wrong truck.....if you expect your 3.21 geared truck to be a tow monster your mistaken.....if you plan to tow anything worth mentioning you should have nothing less then a 3.92 equipped truck....and by the way as for cummins vs ford vs isuzu if you have any doubt go talk to somone at a trucking company and i think you find the cummins gets it done and does it with much less fuel......as for performance the only thing stock that somes close would be the toyota not ford/chevy.......and all the buzz about mds and the groan/vibration (i dont like it either) but dont forget your taking an 8cylinder engine and missfiring 4cylinders.....personally i think it works pretty well as designed.....i can tell you that a flash will be coming down the pipeline that will provide some driveability and trans issues (little bird said so)......i was unable to make it in time to pose some of my own questions but had i been there i def would have made sure to thank these guys for the product that the HEMI is..........

Thanks for posting that GT, cool info there. Also glad I went back through the engineer chat again, didn't realize someone else had answered my question as well further down the line.
