Truth is, there is no "Holy Grail" of intakes that will guarantee your truck to be 'superior' in all ways.

Fitration, appearance, your particular application, 'performance',,,, Personal preference's will differ.

To me, it's not THAT critical of a choice,,,

If you decide to get one, you'll have to decide what's important to you and choose accordingly.
I can see this as being very true! I just purchased my 1st CAI & went with the AEM Brute Force. It shipped yesterday & hope to get it installed by Thursday if it arrives in time...

to a certain degree i agree with what your saying...that is until you start cammin or doin heads (or performance application)... then it does matter... to me the difference was night and day when I installed the Ramhammer (BFI) or the Vararam... at this point our trucks really need to breathe

Is anyone running a Volant and blocked the large bottom hole? Just curious.

Someone incinuated in an earlier post that you could or should. I would think it is open for a reason or Volant would have blocked it.

The bottom hole is for Volant's ram-air tube which goes out to the grille. No reason not to block it since it also gets air from the stock location in the fender.

Yeah, but Volant doesn't offer a tube for the 4th Gens,,, only the 3rds,,,

Perhaps maybe they will some day in the future, but nada for now.

Also, using the tube on a 3rd gen meant giving up one of your fog lights,,,

No big deal if ya like 'fogging' with one eye!!! ARRRRRRRRRRGG!!!!!!!! LMAO!!!
