Default New headlights?

Hello! My fiance is letting me get headlight upgrades for my 1500 5.7 truck for my birthday! We like to call the truck 'Grendell' named after the monster in the english literature story of Beowolf. Anyway, I was thinking about the Anzo Projector with halo (ccfl) lights. I was wandering if someone could give me the pros and cons of getting this set up for Grendell. I have never seen projectors or halos in person and am not even sure how they are different from regular headlights. I have just seen pics on here form other members.

Also, is there a seperate switch that makes it so you can have just the halo rings on when the regular headlights are off? Or are they wired with the fog lights? Is there any maintenence involved with this set up? Do the lights burn out any faster than regular lights? Again, I am just a newbie and any advice would be appreciated. Thank you! -- Tim

Yea those Halos are nice, look really cool.

AAC one of our site vendors makes a kit for your stock headlight housings. This gives you angel eyes on your stock dodge lights. These look really cool since the halos are pretty big

I do infact have those very headlights, and Werm posted up my best pic in that thread. I've since installed a set of LED turnsignal bulbs which really change the appearance of the markers. The install wasn't that bad, just had to find out which wires were highbeams/lowbeams on the truck and then wire them in place of your stock assemblies. As for the Halos, I have them hooked into the DRLs that I have so they're on all the time, but unless you have a canadian model you have to turn you lights on OR wire them independantly if you want them on all the time.

Here's my original hack-job wiring. I've since cleaned it up with bullet connections when I wired in my HALO projector fog lights

The biggest thing with the projectors is getting them spotted properly since they have a definite horizon. After installation, I find it easier to do at night, but park in a dark parking lot and with a T-25 torx screwdriver adjust the assembly to meet 30-35 feet infront of the truck for the best light. The great thing about the projectors is it's a very wide beam, so it lights up the ditches nicely

Here's a night shot of them in action

CdnoilRAM,
I have a 2007 Ram Big Horn Edition, but do not think I have DRL's. Is it possible for the installer to wire the halos so that everytime I have the truck started the halos are automatically on? As well as keeping them on when I turn on the headlights manually at night? Thanks for the replies! -- Tim

Most american market trucks don't have DRLs, so no worries. You can locate a ignition controlled 12V source and wire them into there and you'll get what you're looking for. Just remember to put a fuse on the line if you do. Theyll stay on as long as the ignition is active.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, with my installation, the HALOs turn off when the high beams are on, with the above installation, they'd stay on all the time.

I just purchased a new set of lights myself and was wondering if you could tell me which wires you used for the hookup as I plan on hooking mine up so that the halos are on with the DRL. My electrical know how is virtually 0 so it would be trial and error for me to get them hooked up properly. Appreciate any help you can give me.
