they welded on the 3" extension to make up for the shorter muffler. Also, they welded on the hangers. Then used new and better clamps in the front and two in the back so it is now one piece that bolts on like the OEM one, which I kept just in case.

start up sounds freakin awesome, a deep rumble. a little gas gives a nice deep throat sound, it peaks about 1800 where it is really throaty, then starts to get in old muscle car sound of just a really smooth large V8 sound. then when you get to cruising speed, it really quiets down and settles in. There is a very little drone at 1800 rpm which is about 60 mph with my 3.92s. as soon as you get over 60, even that goes away.

it needs to burn in for a while and then I will see what I have.

borla has such a sweet sound. At WOT, it stays nice and tight and aggressive and not like a red neck mobile straight pipes.

so far I think I like it but it is really new, so we shall see. It is a fair amount louder than the stock sport exhaust.

I got lucky since I had the owner of the shop and his top guy both with 25 years experience put it on for me since I was the only one there at the end of the day on a Friday, looks like they did a really good job. The place is called exhaust works and they do everything from bsaic stuff to full custom, so it's nice to have a place like that right here in town

sounds great. have you noticed any increases in throttle response with the free flowing muffler.

I haven't had a chance to drive it a ton yet so we'll see on that one.

The shop had one guy underneath the truck and one guy behind it on a ladder while it was on the lift to make sure the pipes were perfectly aligned in the cut outs. I forgot to answer that question you had earlier

According to my butt dyno, throttle response did seem a tad better today.

That stock muffler is way heavier and it's for sure not straight through, you can't see through it

The place near my house put the truck on a lift so we could look at the exhaust system and discuss what I wanted. They are trying to talk me out of the y pipe install, but I want it put on. So may be looking for a different place. I can't believe there are no custom exhaust shops around here. And meineke just dosnt seem like they want the job. Oh well the quest continues.

I just recently had this muffler installed as well. Much like what everyone else is saying it sounds amazing. I'm very glad I had this done. I do get a little bit of drone at about 1600 RPMs. This is easily fixed by a manual downshift or just going slightly faster (or slower).

Borla is on. And as previously said. It's very nice. Very minor drone at 1600'ish, but the radio and ac almost make it something I have to concentrate on to hear. Start up is great and cruise is as quiet as the sport exhaust. Overall I'm very happy with it. My right tip is a half inch under the bumper now(. Which is driving me nuts) but over all happy with it. I'm OCD about things being even and level so now to figure out how to get the tips perfectly even again. Great muffler if the desired effect is a little more growl without being overly loud.
