Default Damaged finish on 22" Wheels

I was cleaning my truck today and noticed on the edge of one wheel the finish looks like it is flaking or scratched. I know I haven't hit any curbs or anything as I have been extra careful and the tires show nothing has been rubbed up against. The truck just crossed 500 miles this weekend. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Could it have occurred when they mounted the tires at the factory?

I would bet they scraped it mounting the tire on the rim, quite a common thing if you aren't paying attention. I would definitely bring it back to your dealership and see what they have to say.

Great news. I went in to the dealer to have my bad power fold mirror replaced and showed the service manager my wheel. He took pictures and sent it to Chrysler and within 30 minutes they had approved giving me a new wheel. It should arrive sometime later this week or next week.

I think that could be worked out by starting with a 1000 grit sandpaper and then polishing with a course polish and finishing with a fine polish. I had some light scratches in mine and the buffed right out.
