Great looking truck, you should have a build thread to show all your mods and improvements

Very nice ride! How are you liking your Westin Pro Traxxx nerf bars? They are on my short list of choices and was glad to get to see them on someones truck!

Whoops, haven't been back here in a while.

They are good, get the job done. I wish the pads for the front doors were maybe 6 inches more rearward since it seems like I miss them completely when getting out. It's not a huge beef, it might be something I can actually fix myself, but with this being a bad winter for being outdoors and swinging wrenches I haven't investigated it yet.

Now, for more pictures:

Last month we took the truck up to Mom & Dad's in Massachusetts right after they got whacked with another snowstorm. Most parking lots had these monstrous snow piles eating up parking places, so we figured we'd just park in one. It worked out great for me since I was driving. The wife had a tougher exit from the passenger side.

Last year we saw snowmobiles and stuff on Cheshire Lake and took a little walk on the ice. We were going to do that again on this visit but as we got to the edge, a truck just drove right on by us and onto the lake. The wife looked at me and asked 'can we do that?' Heck yeah!

She wanted to do some donuts. I don't think these really qualify as donuts but she was pretty proud of them anyway.

Nerd on ice

It was fun mostly because we can't drive on lakes here in Maryland. We didn't die or get stuck so the adventure was a success.

It was a good way to clean the road salt off the front suspension bits

and a good way to clean the wheels

We came home and the snow followed us. The truck wound up getting plowed in pretty good and I wasn't looking forward to dealing with wet heavy snow. Fortunately my neighbor came by with his plow truck and made quick work of it. (It was a Ford F250 but we don't hold that against him.)

Then we got more snow.

Come on spring!

More pictures!

Autocross season began in March. We are the keeper of the club's equipment van, which we stash in the backyard. That's usually not a problem except in the weeks approaching the first event we got a couple snowfalls and the backyard was really wet. Naturally, the van got stuck. Ram to the rescue!

Here's what we got the truck for: towing the race car around. In this case, we're loaded up and ready to go to that first one of the year, a whopping 8 mile tow.

Second trip, a little longer ride as we're headed to southern Georgia. Truck towed like a dream.

The ride home was a bit of an adventure as we ran into snow for the last couple hours of our trip

Made it home in one piece anyway, filthy but that's fixable

Here's our tweaked exhaust as referenced in another thread. I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to tackle it, that'll be on this week's to-do list anyway.

Test day, and we're seeing if we should maybe change cars from the green one to the white one. The truck makes for a great HQ as we had all kinds of tools, equipment, tires, etc to deal with.

Speaking of hauling tires.... this truck is earning its keep

The white car is going to be the new semi-serious race car. Here it's about to go to the alignment shop, then the decal shop

The Westin side bars? Stranoparts.com - it's a one-man parts shop that deals mostly with race car parts but he also carries truck stuff too. They're probably not on the site but he'll answer the phone. Tell Sam I sent you.

In every way possible, yes. Biggest surprise so far is that we're not getting significantly less gas mileage towing with the truck vs. towing with the 4Runner.

The only real downside is that it's hard to back up the unloaded trailer since I can't see it over the tailgate and tonneau cover. I have to put some boxes or traffic cones on the back of the trailer. Other than that, we're 100% happy.

Are they the 4" ones? I see west in only lists a part number for the 4" not the 5"?

Nevermind the part number on the box in your first pic gave it away. I ordered mine today after seeing your pics. Looks great! Thanks for posting or else I prolly would have never found them
