Question P 0302 ugh

First time dodge owner and first post. I recently bought a 02 ram slt with the 4.7 v8. first off i love the truck but, two days after i bought it I got check engine light. after searching on the net i found you could check the code using the 3 key turn trick. came up as p 0302. now this code comes and goes on warmer days its not there but on cold mornings it shows up. Today i seemed to really notice kinda a sputtering while accelerating. i searched and on the web didn't see a real clear cut solution. As a new owner can anyone give me trouble shooting tips? What plugs are most recommended, i believe the gap is suppose to be .040? Do i look at wires? Any help would really help guys as im a noob to these trucks.

im gunna go ahead and blame it on your Throttle Body,
on my 04 ram, when the ambient temperature gets below -18 the truck goes into "limp mode" and will not stay running, and when the gas is depressed, nothing happens.
this fixed my issue, i purchased a ported throttle body. and BAMM! perfect ever since.

It stays running and iddles fine. Just seems to chug a bit when accelerating. The code its trowing is for misfire on cylinder two.

could be wrong, but i found this

The P0302 code means that the cylinder 2 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 2. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem, see "Possible Causes"

Start by replacing the plugs, it's relatively inexpensive and easy. I highly highly recommend replacing with oem plugs. You can look in the owners manual to see what the factory plugs are and what the gap should be. Put a dab of anti sieze on each plug when installing is a good idea also.

If the issue remains, the next easiest thing is to check the coils by guess and check method. I believe the early 4.7L did not use plug wires, they have coil on plug. So you have 1 coil on top of every plug, so 8 coils and 8 plugs. Try swapping the coil on the number 2 cylinder with another cylinder (write down which one) and see if the code follows the coil. If it does, it's the coil.

If it remains on the #2 cylinder, it could be the ecm/pcm(I think dodge uses a pcm), wiring harness, or some other things...

Dialectric grease on connections is a good idea. I never had a problem with a connector and then a year ago the horn on my buell wasn't working and I replaced the horn, the switch, cleaned the contacts on the switch, etc, etc, then finally all i had to do to get it working was clean the contacts on the connector/plug to the horn and applied dialectric grease to ensure good connection and protect it from corroding again. I use it all the time now.
