Default Factory warranty and lift kits?

Does putting a lift kit and larger tires (35's) on a dodge ram void the factory warranty?

The only warranty I have ever seen voided from a lift kit are the suspension components that you replace, and ball joints. However if your dealer is a hater than yes they can try to void your warranty however they would have to be able to "prove" that the lift kit caused the failure on the part that fails. For instance it would be very hard for them to try to blame engine failure on suspension, however if you blow out your cv's that is another story.

That's what I thought but just wanted to get some clarification.

My RAM dealer ( and I suspect others ) works with ProComp and has the lifts installed by the local 4WheelParts outlet. So if it's done there, it maintains all factory warranties.

This is if THEY have it done prior to sale, which is what I bought. Not sure if it's the same for used.

Mine is a 6" lift with 20" wheels and 37" tires, and auto-retract side rails. All under Factory warranty

This is all dependent on your dealer.
My lift kit was installed after the fact but installed at my dealer and they honor ALL my warranty.
Now I've asked other dealers I have access to and they will only warranty parts not affected by the lift.
I always go to my dealer I purchased my truck from and installed my lift.

As stated above, this is dealer dependent

i know some dealer flag lifted jeeps, pretty much void anything mechanical. chrysler has pretty deep pockets when you say "they have to prove the lift caused the repair".

First Post I had a 06 Jeep with 37 inch tractor tires. I went to the dealership to get some work done. They called and said the total would be $5000. I was shocked as the Jeep only had 15k on it and reminded them of that fact. They told me I had 0 warranty. The bigger(HEAVIER) tires causes a strain on the powertrain (True)so that warranty is no longer valid. Jeep did not design the engine/transmission/transfer case to handle that much weight.
I had an buddy who is a hardcore offroader and also a lawyer. He looked into it including the Magnusson act and he said I was out of luck. The magnusson act was primarily written so Manufacturers could not void your warranty if you didnt use "Mopar" oil and a Mopar oil filter. As long as it met the specs you were good for your warranty.
I have heavily modified every vehicle I have owned including a 330+ HP VW GTI. What I have found is it all depends on your dealership and more importantly your service writer. Thats the guy who you want to become BFFs with.

X2 on why not just ask your dealer and tell him what your about to do and just a friendly talk and see how that goes. I just did that with my service guy and he said hell yeah have fun but have it installed with so so and you wont have warranty issue's. So guess what I am pricing out what I want for my winter install!!!! AWESOME

good advice, check with the dealer. seems as though, since fiat bought in, it is tougher for mod freindly dealerships to "slide" things through under warranty.
