well i started friday night and just finished up here early saturday night. took about 11 man hours of actual work. and about 5 hours watching paint dry and waiting for the oven to heat up and bake my lights.

first off remove your lights and take out all the electrical wires and lights, along with the dome covers

this is the stuff that i removed from the headlight itself.

next heat your oven to 210 Fahrenheit and bake lights for 10 minutes. if you need to put the light back in the oven. place it in for 5 minutes after the first initial timing.

id recommend putting your light on a cookie tray so that its not sitting against the racks in your oven.

full size oven is required for these headlights.

the housings are now removed

i only pried my lights open on 3 sides with a screw driver and while still hot slid the housing s out.

this is the side i left alone and did not bother unsealing.

If those die on ya, try looking for a set of Beamers HID, they aren't a cheap product. Those custom headlights are looking great!

i then scuffed my lights with some green scotch brite. as seen in my first picture of supplies.

i then primed each light and let them dry

i painted each light all black first with 3 coats and let dry.

i taped off the outline of where the blue paint would be going.

i filled in the big spots with newspaper as to make sure no blue would get on the black areas of the light.

three coats of blue color matched paint later and some drying time.

masking tape and news paper removed and now to let it fully dry for about another 2 hours.

Lights are now dry so i reinstalled my side markers. i like the look of them. some people just leave them out, but up to you.

this time around im installing 55watt hids 8000k

i reinstalled the housings back together. i heated the lights up in the oven for 10 minutes at 210 degrees so that it was easier to work with. i put clear silicone back inside the groove the light sits in and sealed it together. i then also put a nice good bead all the way along the outside edge and made sure it was sealed.

put your lighting harness back in and attach your bulbs. or in my case i installed my hids at this time.

drivers side

passenger side.

Hids installed and all back together

front of the truck with all four hids on , and my 42" light bar

I hope you guys enjoy all the pictures and this new look. its well worth the time and effort to do it yourself. cost me around 50 dollars minus hids. better than paying hundreds for someone to do it for you. now you have the pride when someone asks where did you get those lights, you simply say i did them all myself.
