Exactly why they stopped putting the software updates on the Uconnect site. Of course, they are assuming that the radios are getting bricked due to user error during the update and not because the software/hardware is shoddy.

No experience with the rear but the front is easy.

I used a wireless camera. Hardest thing was to install the lockpick but if you follow the instructions it ain't difficult

i have the chr558 which is the c8 + some added features. works great except on the 14 rams the rear camera doesn't work over 10mph which is the rams issue since the computer shuts the power off to it over a certain mph

OK, i must be beyond naive, but here goes: I have a 2014 Ram 2500 (didnt think you'd mind my posting here, as we have the same 8.4" uconnect radio, and I, too, am interested in this hack). Anyway, I have the 8.4A (without nav). I don't want, or need nav. My question is, what would this jailbreak do for me? My truck already has the backup cam. I have the optional cd player. Is there some way I can Watch dvd's through my cd player? Will this hack magically make my cd into a dvd player? I am not handy, and I dont want to do any wiring, or installations, or anything like that. If this is simply software plug and play, and i pop it in, and wala; i can play movies, that would be great.....Excuse my ignorance, again. Also, Im not very good with computers and stuff, so can they send me the USB stick already loaded, so i can just pop it in the truck? I dont Know how to download, upload, or any other kind of load, LOL.

Im in the U.S., by the way.

the lockpick is a hardware device that plugs in between the wiring harness and the radio. what it does is allow you to use the 8.4" screen for whatever you want.
some of the features include

add more cameras to your truck
be able to type in destination in your nav while driving
watch movies/ play games on the screen

i mainly have it hooked up so i can sling my hopper while on trips so my buddy's can watch TV/Movies while i'm driving
