Default Another tire/lift question.

After my reading i am going to install that Blistein 5100 struts at a 2.1 raise to level my truck. I do little to no hauling or pulling. I know my first step is to level it out and hope not to void my extended 48/48 bumper to bumper or 7/100 powertrain warranty. I have the stock 265/70/17 chrome wheels on my Big Horn. From the leveling/tire size post is it correct that i can only go up to a 285/70/17 to keep my stock wheel and to not have any rubbing without spacers? Im hesitant to install a 1/4" spacer due to horror stories ive heard from losing 1/4" of your lug nut threads. I am only wanting a 33 or maybe 35. Im sure the true 12.5 width wouldnt happen without spacers or new wheels with an offset. Im looking to get the Hancook Dynapro ATM since i wont be doing any real off-roading. Thanks in advance

Currently I have a two inch level (5100's are on backorder). I am running 35's 12.5 wide dick cepek mud country on a 20 inch rim with a -12 offset. I do rub slightly on the mudflap only at low speed (basically crawling) turning halfway to the left. The extra lift the bilsteins will give will rectify the rub I'm sure of it. I don't think you will fit a 12.5 wide on stock rims as it will rub. I'm not a fan of spacers from what I've read however can't say for sure cuz I've never used them. I think it may be worth your while to have two sets of rims and tires if its feasible . I use my stock set for winter and my 35's for summer. Any warranty issues I suggest slapping on stock rims and adjusting your bilsteins to stock height when and if you need to bring it in for any big warranty jobs. Hope that hèlps

Do you think a 285/75/17 will fit with blistein leveling kit probably set to 2.1? I believe the width is around 11.8 height is right around 33 which should be fine...

Yah Jeremiah is right. 285-75R17 is equal to 33.8-11.2R17. Probably wouldn't even need to use a level as 33's are basically stock. I will still always recommend a level though as i think a truck should sit level. 2.1 would be perfect

265 is the width 75 is the sidewall hight (aspect ratio to width) so 285 is only 15mm larger than your stock tires. Not much bigger

fire do you think I could a 35 then? I think with stock wheels without spacers the width will be the issue? So if I could find a 35 thats not an actual 12.5. I really just dont want to spend the money on 4 tires and 4 new wheels.

I believe several tire companies have a slimmer tire. Toyo at2 come in a 35 x 11.8 (34.4 true) and will fit without rubbing with your shocks set at 2.1 35's look so much better I think
